The Art of Abhinaya: Expression in Motion
Bharatanatyam is a language of storytelling. I teach my students that the most important part of this language is Abhinaya, the art of expression. We focus on the Navarasas (nine emotions) and Mudras (hand gestures) to convey stories with depth and feeling, because as I always say, kannu aanallo ettavum important (the eyes matter most).
Training & Technique: The Journey to Grace
My teaching is rooted in the authentic Kalakshetra style, with a strong focus on fundamentals. In my classes, both online and at our Bangalore centres, students learn everything from the basic Adavus (steps) and Mudras (hand gestures) to the demanding Aramandi posture, ensuring a solid foundation for their dance journey.
The Guru-Shishya Parampara: Our Sacred Bond
The relationship between a teacher and student is at the core of our tradition. I believe in nurturing each student with patience and warmth, guiding them not just in dance but in life. We celebrate our bond through traditions like Gurudakshina on Vijayadashami and by honouring our lineage on Guru Purnima.

Hear from Our Students: Voices of SSCD
Nothing brings me more joy than hearing from my students about their experiences. Their stories of finding confidence, connecting with their culture, and discovering a lifelong passion for dance are the greatest testimonials to the work we do at our school.
