Dance is a lifetime commitment, not a sprint. Here is a glimpse into the discipline, daily practice, and philosophy that guides every student at Samarpana.

I reminisce here about my performing and learning days in my early 20s. Life revolved around college and going straight to dance class, a time of deep immersion in the art.

I took these photos casually over a year ago. As a teacher, it is important for me to continue my own practice, to explore movement and expression in quiet moments.

Unlock your potential one move at a time. I believe everyone has great potential within them, and dance is a wonderful way to discover and express it.

Building stamina is crucial for a dancer. Even a short gap can make it a struggle. So my advice is always the same: keep dancing, keep practicing, and stay connected to your body.

My students Ankita and Anika sent me this performance of the Guru Ashtakam for Guru Poornima. The bond between a Guru and Sishya is sacred, and such tokens of love are deeply cherished.

Wishing you a Navaratri filled with love and devotion. Here is the first video from our Navaratri series, a small offering from me to mark the beginning of the festival.

About My Journey as a Guru

I don’t believe in cookie-cutter lessons or rushing students through their repertoire. Whether you are an adult rediscovering dance or a child taking your first steps, we work at a pace that respects your personal rhythm. My priority is building stamina and a genuine understanding of the craft, ensuring you feel confident in every movement long before you ever step onto a stage.

My path to becoming a teacher was unexpected. Trained in the Vazhuvoor style by legends like Adyar K. Lakshman sir, I spent my early years immersed in the rigors of classical dance. The discipline was intense. I still vividly remember showing up to class the day after my Arangetram, only for my Guru to ask, 'Enna innaikke vanduttiya?' (You came today itself?). That level of dedication is what I aim to foster in my own students today.

At Samarpana Dance Academy, my teaching approach is deeply rooted in this personal history. I treat every class as a connection between Guru and student. We focus heavily on basics, technique, and the physical conditioning required to perform with grace. My goal is to help you build a strong foundation, whether you are training for a professional debut or simply seeking a meditative, disciplined outlet for your creativity.

If you are looking for Bharatanatyam classes in Bengaluru that value the depth of the art form over quick results, let's talk. We handle everything from the Salangai Pooja to full-scale Arangetram coaching, but the most important thing we build is a lasting, respectful relationship with the dance.

I am Preetha, and I never actually planned on becoming a teacher. After years of training under legends and performing, I realized my true home is in the studio with my students. I am here to walk that path with you, focusing on the discipline of the art rather than just the performance.
