From Concept to Reality: Our Architectural Journey
Every project begins with a conversation. See the path from our initial hand-sketches and conceptual renders to the final, lived-in reality on-site.
A conceptual render for a new multi-generational family retreat. We use courtyards and verandahs to create distinct atmospheres of togetherness and isolation, shaping the experience of the world around our clients.
The entrance render for the family retreat project. The design uses long, low walls and carefully placed trees to create a serene and understated arrival experience.
A render for a new project in our mother city, Bombay. We intend to make a difference in the urban landscape by designing vertical homes that are climatic, sustainable, and connected to the coastal view.
Let's build a new India, bit by bit. This collection of watercolor-style renders showcases the vision for several of our projects, from country homes to urban apartment buildings.
A render of the Koba House, showing its dramatic, sculptural roofline against the night sky. The design is an exercise in creating big, white spaces where light is the main showstopper.
Before and after: a construction shot and a final render of our Khwabgah project in Delhi. This multi-generational home is laid out around two main courtyards and celebrates natural, noble materials.
A render showing a pool and living pavilion for a new family retreat. The design is spread out across the site to create a series of episodic experiences within a lush, tropical landscape.
A render of the poolside view from the Koba House. The design frames the expansive view of the Sabarmati river, creating a seamless connection between the home and the water.
A render of the pool for a new family retreat, surrounded by lush greenery and cobblestone paths. We are fortunate to be bestowed beautiful sites and look forward to building these episodic dreams.
The story of our Lakeshore house in Hyderabad, from steel frame to finished home. The structure was built to be precise yet earthy, born out of the red earth of the site itself.
About From Concept to Reality
The leap from a watercolor sketch or a 3D render to a standing structure is rarely straight. We spend months on-site, adjusting details as the light hits the walls, because a design on paper is just a promise. Our real work happens in the messy middle, where we ensure the granite actually feels cool underfoot and the verandah catches the breeze exactly as we intended.
We are known for our listener's approach. Every project begins with long conversations and ink on paper, not software. We believe in the tactile—hand-drawn sketches, physical models, and the smell of the site.
For projects like our Lakeshore house in Hyderabad or the Khwabgah project in Delhi, the transition from concept to reality is a journey of material honesty. We do not believe in hiding construction behind layers of paint or false ceilings. If a beam is structural, it should show its strength. If a wall is built of rammed earth, it should speak to the ground it stands on.
Our process is deliberate. We walk the site, understand the path of the sun, and map the trees before a single brick is laid. When we translate a render into reality, we are negotiating with the elements. We bring in artisans who understand stone, brass, and teak. The final home is not just a building; it is a collection of memories and atmospheres, built to age gracefully over time.
