About Learn the Asanas
When you practice Paschimottanasana or Sirsasana, you are training your nervous system. Most injuries happen because students focus on the shape, not the structure. In my studio, we use belts, blocks, and walls to ensure your alignment is correct before you ever attempt a full pose. Real progress does not come from forcing your body into a position, but from understanding the mechanics that make it safe.
Why Alignment is Non-Negotiable
Yoga is often treated like a gym workout, but without correct alignment, you are just accumulating wear and tear. At Soul to Shiva, I teach that an asana is not complete until the body and mind are in sync. Whether we are practicing Surya Namaskar sequences or complex inversions like Chakrasana, the goal is always stability and comfort.
My Method: The Science of Props
I use traditional yoga props—ropes, wheels, and blocks—not as a crutch, but as a teaching tool. If you cannot reach your toes in a forward bend, we use a strap to keep your spine straight. This allows you to hold the pose long enough to actually feel the stretch in the right places, rather than just straining your lower back.
Beyond the Asana
The physical posture is only the beginning. My classes are structured to guide you through:
- Anatomical Safety: Understanding which muscles to engage and which to relax.
- Breath Integration: Coordinating movement with breath to calm the nervous system.
- Sustainable Progression: Building strength and flexibility over months, not days.
Ek din main nahi hoga, lekin ek din zarur hoga (It won't happen in a day, but one day, it will). If you are in New Ashok Nagar or Mayur Vihar, come prepared to work, sweat, and learn the right way.
Sunil Yogi
I started Soul to Shiva Yoga Foundation because real yoga is about quieting the mind, not just performing fancy poses for the camera. I teach discipline and alignment so you can practice safely for a lifetime. If you are ready for a real change and prepared to put in the work, you are in the right place.
