Props are not just for support; they are tools for precise alignment. Whether you are a senior or a beginner, I use chairs, straps, and blocks to help you hold poses safely and correctly.

Here, students use chairs to support a deep lunge, which helps in opening the hips and stretching the legs without losing balance. This is a great example of how props can modify a classic pose like Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose) for different flexibility levels.

These students are using chairs for a supported back-stretching pose. This method is especially beneficial for seniors or those with back stiffness, as it allows the spine to lengthen gently and safely.

A chair and a bolster provide the perfect support for a restorative backbend. This setup helps improve lung capacity and digestion by opening up the chest and abdominal area in a completely supported manner.

The yoga wheel is an excellent prop for safely practicing advanced backbends. It supports the natural curve of the spine, allowing students, especially kids, to build strength and flexibility progressively.

In this video, I am using a strap to assist a young student in a backbend, while another student uses wall ropes for a deep split. These props are essential tools I use for providing support in advanced asanas.

This sequence demonstrates how a chair, bolster, and blocks can be used to practice supported inversions like Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand) and Halasana (Plow Pose). This makes the poses safer and more accessible.

Wall ropes are a key feature in my studio. Here, students of different ages use them to achieve deeper stretches and backbends, helping to decompress the spine and improve flexibility with proper support.

I provide hands-on assistance combined with props like wall ropes to help students safely enter challenging poses. This ensures correct form and builds trust between the student and the practice.

This video showcases a variety of props in action. I am assisting a child in a backbend, while other students use chairs for supported stretches, demonstrating a versatile and safe learning environment.

About Safe Practice with Props

When you use a chair or a strap, you aren't 'cheating' the pose; you are actually giving your body the structure it needs to unlock its potential safely. In my sessions across New Ashok Nagar and Mayur Vihar, I use wall ropes and blocks specifically to prevent injury and help students—especially seniors and children—gain the confidence to hold challenging asanas without the fear of falling or straining. This is about real parivartan (change), not just making a pose look good for a photo.
