Personal Yoga Guidance and Hands-on Adjustment Training
Teaching is a dialogue, not a lecture. My goal is to ensure you feel seen and supported as you deepen your practice through careful, hands-on adjustments that prioritize your body's specific needs.
True progress in yoga comes from discipline and patient guidance. I am assisting a student in a deep forward bend, helping them find their edge safely while respecting the body's limits.
In our advanced training, we explore complex asanas with care. I use a strap to help a student work towards Svarga Dvijasana (Bird of Paradise Pose), demonstrating how props can make challenging postures more accessible.
I guide a student through the nuances of Salabhasana (Locust Pose), providing support to help her lift higher while maintaining core engagement and protecting the lower back. This is the kind of detailed instruction you will receive here.
Here, I am explaining the correct alignment for Ustrasana (Camel Pose). I focus on the engagement of the legs and the opening of the chest to ensure a safe and deep backbend, using a block for support.
Every student's journey is unique. I take the time for one-on-one discussions to understand your goals and challenges, ensuring the training meets you exactly where you are.
In a group setting, I still provide individual adjustments. Here, I guide a student to find more length and lift in Virabhadrasana I (Warrior I), helping them feel the full expression of the pose.
Trust is the foundation of learning. I offer a supportive adjustment in Utthita Parsvakonasana (Extended Side Angle Pose), helping the student open their chest and extend fully through the fingertips.
A simple touch can be a powerful teaching tool. Here, I offer a blessing and energetic alignment to a student, a practice of Shaktipat that is part of the deeper spiritual transmission at our ashram.
This video shows me assisting a student in Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana (Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose). The focus is on maintaining balance and hip alignment while deepening the stretch.
Teaching is a dialogue. I engage with my students in philosophical discussions, often outdoors, to explore the deeper meanings of yoga beyond the physical practice.
About Personal Guidance from Master Teachers
True growth in yoga requires more than observation. When you work with me, I do not just demonstrate a pose and leave you to figure out the angles. I use physical adjustments, Iyengar-style wall ropes, and blocks to help you feel the correct muscular engagement in your own body, ensuring you learn to protect your joints while deepening your flexibility.
Many yoga teacher training programs treat students as numbers in a crowded room. At our ashram, we operate differently because I believe teaching is medicine. If you are struggling with a specific backbend or feel tension in your shoulders during a forward fold, we stop. We look at why your body is resisting, and we use props like straps or chairs to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
This is not about achieving the perfect shape; it is about learning how to teach the human body, not just the pose. You will practice reading the body language of others and learning when to push, when to pull, and when to simply hold space. This requires a small, intimate group where no one is left behind.
Whether you are working toward your 300-hour certification or just beginning your deeper dive into yoga therapy, my goal is to guide you to your own answers. When you leave our Ramanagar facility, you will not just have a certificate. You will have the confidence to see a student's struggle in a class and know exactly how to use a wall rope or a block to help them find ease. This is the art of alignment, taught slowly, patiently, and with care.
