Asana Practice and Therapeutic Yoga Alignment
Experience yoga as a way of life, not just a workout. We focus on safe alignment, restorative movement, and the therapeutic power of asana in our quiet ashram setting.
A group of students practices Virabhadrasana I (Warrior I) in our shala. The synchronized movement creates a powerful collective energy, while the use of the wall rope by one student shows our focus on props and alignment.
Students practice a variation of Warrior pose with arms raised. The morning light fills the shala, creating a beautiful atmosphere for our daily asana practice.

Students practice a deep forward fold, Parsvottanasana (Pyramid Pose), with hands-on adjustments. This image captures the intensity and focus of our alignment-based classes.
This is a duplicate of image 88. It showcases the dedication of our students as they move together in a challenging forward bend, with teachers providing support.
A student demonstrates a beautiful Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel Pose) variation. Our training will help you build the strength and flexibility to explore advanced postures safely.
To live yoga as a way of life, not just a practice. Students hold Warrior I, embodying strength and focus, with a teacher observing and guiding the class.
A student holds Malasana (Garland Pose), a fundamental squat that is excellent for hip mobility. We focus on mastering the foundations of asana practice.
Students practice Apanasana (Knees-to-Chest Pose), a gentle posture for releasing the lower back. Our classes balance dynamic work with restorative and gentle movements.
Students rest in Balasana (Child's Pose), a moment of surrender and introspection during asana practice. We teach the importance of listening to your body and honoring its need for rest.
About Asana Practice in Motion
We don’t practice asana to perform; we practice to heal. In our shala, you will learn to use props like Iyengar wall ropes, chairs, and straps, not to make poses easier, but to access proper alignment and provide therapeutic relief for specific conditions like knee, back, and neck pain.
At our ashram, we teach yoga as a 'work-in' rather than a workout. This means your asana practice becomes a tool for self-discovery and recovery. We move away from the competitive fitness culture often seen in city studios and return to the roots of functional, pain-free movement.
The Role of Props in Alignment
Our 300-hour training specifically integrates medical yoga techniques. You will learn to read bodies and understand how to adapt postures for injury management. Whether it is using the wall ropes to decompress the spine or using blocks to find stability in a deep forward fold, these props are essential for long-term practice.
Learning with Our Team
My teaching partner, Neelam Mangat, brings a depth of focus to these sessions that ensures every student feels supported. We maintain small group sizes so that your progress is guided by direct, hands-on adjustments. This environment ensures you aren't just learning how to do a pose, but how to teach it to others safely.
Life in the Shala
Your practice takes place in our 7-acre naturally ventilated facility. Here, the environment is part of the training. You will breathe clean air and practice on red oxide floors, learning to sustain your energy throughout the day. This isn't just about the 60 minutes you spend on the mat, but about how you carry that alignment and awareness into your life after the training concludes.
