From traditional Karnataka folk forms to immersive dance dramas, I bring stories from our land to your stage through authentic movement and live performance.

A moment from "Shakti Stuti," our annual day event. As a choreographer, I enjoy exploring the concept of 'Shakti' and its relevance to the modern woman through dance.

A dancer performing Kathak at an event I hosted. My work includes curating performances and providing a platform for talented artists from various classical and folk traditions.

Portraying three different characters for the dance drama 'Karunada Vaibhava.' I love the challenge of character portrayal, stepping into someone else's skin to tell their story.

A Dollu Kunitha artist in a moment of pure, unbridled joy. This image, while capturing a fellow artist, also represents the powerful, energetic spirit of the folk forms I work with.

A short, fun clip capturing my feelings as a choreographer watching my students perform a new piece on stage. It's a mix of anxiety and pride!

A scene from 'Karunada Vaibhava,' a dance drama on the greats of Karnataka, directed by my Guru Smt. Sheela Chandrasekar. I was fortunate to be cast in this magnum opus.

Performing a scene from 'Karunada Vaibhava.' My training under my gurus has been foundational to my work in both performance and choreography.

About this collection

Planning a performance involves more than booking a troupe; it is about finding the right energy for your space. My work sits at the intersection of raw folk intensity and structured theatrical storytelling. Whether you need a 30-minute percussion-heavy Dollu Kunitha troupe or a 90-minute dance drama, I help you balance the narrative flow so the audience stays engaged from start to finish.

I lead the Bhramari Dance Repertoire to bring cultural authenticity to modern stages. Many assume folk dance is just about loud drums and fast steps. While the energy is essential—I use only authentic, tuned instruments like seasoned animal hide drums—the staging is where the story lives.

For events, I prioritize the intent behind the movement. If we are performing Yakshagana, Kamsale, or Pooja Kunitha, I ensure the dancers honor the tradition rather than just wearing the costume. My process involves researching the roots of each form and translating that for a contemporary audience, whether it is for a festival, a corporate function, or a street procession.

For larger shows, I manage the production scale, ranging from solo acts to 300 performers, ensuring technical cues and storytelling elements align perfectly. We prioritize live musicians over studio tracks to capture the true sound of our land.

If you are looking for choreography, I do not just teach steps. I design movement patterns and stage blocking suitable for your group's skill level, whether they are theatre students or corporate teams. We focus on:

  • Authentic Folk Performances: High-energy Dollu Kunitha, Kamsale, and traditional Karnataka forms with real instruments and traditional attire.
  • Thematic Dance Dramas: Narrative-driven shows that blend classical and folk styles to tell specific stories.
  • Technical Staging: Professional management of light, sound, and stage cues to support the narrative.
  • Custom Choreography: Tailored routines designed for non-dancers or theatre enthusiasts, including rehearsal and technical run-throughs.

Dance is my conversation with the universe. I am a researcher first, but I live to translate those stories onto the stage, whether it is a temple courtyard or a grand auditorium. I keep the tradition alive by ensuring every performance feels like a prayer, not just an act.
