A glimpse into my 25-year journey of researching, directing, and anchoring India's rich folk traditions for stages both big and small.

This video is a short summary of my 25-year journey in the world of folk dance. It captures moments from large scale choreographies, academic presentations, and the publication of my book, "Nrutya Beru," reflecting a path filled with gratitude and learning.

Directing 'Navarasa Ramayana' with 620 students of my alma mater, Sri Kumarans Children’s Home. This demonstrates my capability in handling magnum opus productions, from concept and script to choreography and final execution on a grand stage.

Presenting my research on Karnataka's folk dances at the International Festival on Indian Dance, hosted by the Sangeet Natak Akademi. This highlights my role as a scholar, dedicated to the academic study and documentation of our intangible cultural heritage.

A powerful moment from a Bhoota Kola ritual in Kundapura. Witnessing these ancient traditions firsthand is central to my work, allowing me to bring authenticity and deep cultural understanding to my curation and research.

The raw energy of a Kambala buffalo race in Mangalore. Documenting such folk sports and rituals is a vital part of my research, helping me understand the deep connection between communities, their land, and their traditions.

The culmination of years of research: my book "Nrutya Beru," a study of Karnataka's folk dances, available in both English and Kannada. This work serves as a comprehensive guide for enthusiasts, scholars, and artists.

A glimpse of a Jogati Nruthya performance I curated and anchored for the Ministry of Tourism's 'Discover Mysuru' event. This showcases my ability to bring together premier artists to create a vibrant cultural kaleidoscope for prestigious events.

About this collection

When I design a performance, I am not just booking artists; I am building a bridge between tradition and your audience. Every piece I direct is rooted in academic research, ensuring that whether it is a high-energy Dollu Kunitha or a quiet, ritualistic invocation, the presentation is authentic, technically sound, and culturally accurate.

My work is defined by the marriage of scholarship and spectacle. Whether you are planning a large-scale government event or a private cultural showcase, my approach remains the same: I immerse myself in the history of the art form first. My book, 'Nrutya Beru', is the foundation of this commitment, and it informs the way I select performers, design costumes, and arrange the musical flow.

I handle the end-to-end production for events ranging from intimate gatherings to massive festivals. This includes scripting the narrative arc, training the artists to maintain traditional standards—like using authentic, tuned instruments instead of backing tracks—and anchoring the show myself to provide the audience with the necessary cultural context. If you are looking for a performance that moves beyond surface-level entertainment and offers a genuine experience of Karnataka’s vibrant heritage, I am here to help guide that vision.
