Yakshagana Performances: Traditional Kannada Dance-Drama
Experience the vibrant energy and mythological storytelling of Yakshagana. We bring ancient epics to life with authentic costumes, live music, and professional artistry that honours our cultural roots.
The expressive power of a Yakshagana artist is captured in this moment. The detailed face paint and intense gaze are central to conveying the story and character's emotions, a hallmark of our authentic performances.

About Yakshagana: Epic Tales on Stage
Before you finalize the booking, remember that we perform without any recorded tracks. We bring our own live percussionists to keep the energy raw and authentic, so you will need to provide a clear, flat performance space of at least 20x15 feet for our artists to move safely.
Our Approach to Yakshagana
We don't just dance; we tell stories. Whether you are hosting a traditional wedding, a corporate cultural evening, or a private festival, we focus on delivering the depth of Kannada folklore. We specialize in both the Badagutittu and Tenkutittu styles, ensuring that the specific regional nuances—from the makeup to the rhythmic patterns—remain true to their heritage.
What's Included in a Performance
Every 45-60 minute performance is a production, not just a casual appearance. Our typical troupe includes:
- Lead Characters: 2 artists in full traditional costume and heavy Kireedam headgear.
- Live Musicians: A dedicated trio for vocals and percussion (Chende and Maddale), ensuring a real, resonant sound.
- Artistic Prep: The 'Bannagarike' (face painting) process is intense. Our artists arrive 3-4 hours early to transform into the characters, which is an integral part of the spectacle.
Planning for Your Venue
Because we prioritize authenticity, we need a bit of preparation. A private green room or a clean, enclosed space is essential for our makeup application. We travel across Bengaluru, Mysuru, and wider Karnataka, carrying our professional-grade instruments and costumes to every site. If you have a specific episode or 'Prasanga' in mind, let us know early—we can tailor the narration to suit your audience, making the performance accessible and engaging for everyone present.
