About Taekwondo Training
Why I Teach Taekwondo
Taekwondo at Skye Martial Arts is more than fancy kicks. I see it as a way to build a strong body, sharp mind, and steady spirit. Every session is about discipline and respect, not just the moves. Even when we tie our dobok, I remind everyone - first wrap for strength, second for focus, last knot for spirit. Getting to Black Belt is about balancing all three.
What You Get Out of Training
- Physical fitness: Expect sweat and sore muscles, whether you’re a newbie or a regular. Most folks notice they get stronger and more flexible pretty quick.
- Mental growth: Discipline is tough. You’ll need focus and grit, especially when you hit a plateau.
- Confidence: As you progress, you’ll feel yourself stand taller. Most students say their self-belief goes up.
- Core values: Respect, humility, integrity - I push these hard in every class.
- Self-defense skills for beginners: Practical stuff you can actually use, not just theory.
Your Taekwondo Journey
Start out with a white belt and work up with Taekwondo belt promotion events. Every new colour is proof you’re leveling up. The ultimate goal, Black Belt, means you’ve stuck with it through thick and thin.
How You Can Train
- Group Taekwondo classes for kids and adults at our Powai studio. Training is serious, but we keep it fun too. Hana, dul, set (one, two, three)... let's go!
- Online live sessions for those who want to train from home - easy to join, same energy.
- Weekend coaching for Taekwondo sparring training and Poomsae. Perfect if you want to push your skills further.
Gamsahabnida (thank you) for being part of the journey, whether you’re just starting or chasing that Black Belt.

My Story
Hey, we’re Team SKYe. When we kicked off in Mumbai, Taekwondo wasn’t just about kicks and belts for us – it’s about building real confidence, respect, and grit. Our Head Instructor, Gaurav Sir, leads the way, and our mentors from abroad keep us sharp. Watching students like John go from shy to strong, that’s what keeps us going. We’re not just a dojang, we’re a big family. Gamsahabnida, SKYe crew – every smile and every win, that’s why we’re here.
My Work

Character Building Through Martial Arts - We focus on grit, honesty, confidence, and discipline – way beyond just the physical stuff.
The SKYe Way - Our sessions mix focus, respect, fun, and passion. One goal, one focus – that’s how we roll.
Symbolism in Every Belt - How you tie your belt means something here. Every knot stands for strength, spirit, and hard work.
