Monthly Dojo Access
Core Training Frequency
- Access to 2 to 3 classes per week totaling 8 to 12 sessions a month.
- Sessions run 60 to 90 minutes covering Kihon basics, Kata forms, and Kumite drills.
- Instruction led by Sensei Amit Khatri (5th Dan) and senior assistants in large batches of 20+ students.
Venue & Amenities
- Training takes place in shared spaces like KES School or Malad Gymkhana.
- Facilities include basic puzzle mats and fan ventilation; no AC or luxury amenities provided.
Additional Costs
- Uniform (Dogi) must be purchased separately (approx. INR 1,500 to 2,000).
- One time annual registration fee applies (approx. INR 1,000).
- Quarterly belt grading exams and sparring gear charged extra.

About Shotokan Karate Training
I see Shotokan Karate as a lot more than just punches and kicks. For me, it's a way to build courage and discipline, whether you're a school kid or someone who's never tried a martial art before. I teach Asai-ryu Shotokan, what I learnt directly under Shihan Kousaku Yokota for over 12 years, so you’re getting the real stuff here, not watered down moves.
What Training With Me Feels Like
- We work hard, but we also laugh, mess up, and get up again. It's a family vibe - everyone supports each other.
- My classes are open for all - kids (age 4+), adults - gents, ladies, beginners, even if you’ve never thrown a punch in your life.
- You’ll learn practical self-defense, not just fancy moves. We focus on building strong bodies and sharper minds. That means fitness drills, stretching, even a bit of yoga and meditation for mental discipline.
How We Train
- Basics (Kihon): punches, kicks, blocks, stances.
- Forms (Kata): for balance and rhythm.
- Sparring (Kumite): controlled combat, no wild fighting.
- Extra stuff: beach workouts, fitness bootcamps, and sometimes, international seminars with top instructors.

My Story
Hey, I’m Amit. Been sweating it out for 12+ years under my guru, Shihan Yokota. ASAI India’s my pride, but honestly, my real backbone is family. Alpa, my wife, she’s my partner in karate and in life. My son keeps me laughing, especially when we’re doing Garba and spinning around. My students? They’re my second family. Watching them earn their belts, that’s the real joy. For me, karate’s not just a job – it’s my journey, my heartbeat.
My Work
Martial Arts & Fitness Training - I teach Shotokan Karate classes, Cardio Kickboxing for beginners, Power Yoga, Self Defence for women, and Fitness Bootcamps.
All Ages Welcome - Kids from 4, adults, men, women – we’ve got separate sessions for everyone to feel comfortable.
