I am Madhumita, and I founded ShrotaHouse to share the joy of our Shastriya Sangeet with the next generation. Here is a glimpse into the passion, the people, and the community that make our musical journey so special.

"Music and Children are my life." A candid moment of me, Madhumita, sharing a smile with a young student. These moments of connection are what I cherish the most.

A memorable start to the new year with one of the living legends of Indian art music, Vid. Dr. Sriram Parasuram. It's an honor to learn from and connect with such great artists.

A clip from my recent vocal performance of Raag Multani. I feel lucky to have one of the best Gurus, Prof. Milind Malshe, to guide me, and to see my son building his own love for the art.

"Sometimes you sing. Other times, you sing more!" A short clip of me, Madhumita, inspired by my little ones to just sing. Join the joy of pure music with us.

Singer Founders Flexing Fridays. A candid moment of me working on my laptop, inspired by the musical energy of our little ones.

On Rakshabandhan, I'm sharing a personal memory of me and my brother making music together. We invite you to share your musical sibling moments with our community!

Holding a Tanpura, I wish everyone a Happy World Music Day and International Yoga Day. May these pursuits lead to self-discovery.

About this collection

When I started ShrotaHouse, my goal was not just to teach notes but to create a 'parivar' or family where music feels like home. Whether we are exploring a raag or simply clapping to a rhythm, every interaction is driven by the joy I felt as a child making music with my brother. My focus is always on making the beauty of Indian classical music accessible, playful, and deeply personal for every little one who walks through our doors.

My journey began with a simple belief that music is a language, not just a subject. After spending years in academic and corporate environments, I realized that the most profound learning happens when you remove the barriers of 'strict' teaching. At ShrotaHouse, we turn workshops into experiences.

We do not just hold classes in Bengaluru. We build musical environments. When you see our team in action, you will find artists who are as comfortable talking to a toddler about a tabla as they are performing a complex raag. Our gurus and performers bring patience and storytelling to every session, ensuring that children view instruments not as intimidating objects, but as friends.

Everything we do, from our 'Musical Book Tour' to the 'Wonderful Vaadya Project', is designed to spark curiosity. We want parents and children to leave our sessions feeling more connected to our roots and to each other. If you are looking for a space where your child can explore Hindustani or Carnatic music without the pressure of exams or rigid syllabi, you have found your place. We are always happy to discuss how we can bring this musical energy to your school, community center, or home.
