We turn Indian classical music into a playground for kids. Through storytelling, live performances, and our 'Color & Learn' activity book, we make the world of ragas and rhythms touchable and fun.

About this collection

In every 75-minute session, we trade stiff lectures for stories and real interaction. You don’t just watch; your child gets to handle instruments like the Sitar or Tabla under safe supervision, and everyone takes home their own 'Color & Learn' activity kit to keep the musical curiosity alive at home.

More than just a music class

We believe Indian classical music shouldn't be confined to a concert hall. Our Musical Book Tour is designed to be an adventure for children aged 3 to 8, where we use the 'Little Bajo' character to guide kids through the magic of ragas and swaras.

What happens at a stop?

Each session follows a casual, interactive structure:

  • Live Performance: A professional instrumentalist (violin, flute, or tabla) plays live, letting kids hear the nuances up close.
  • Hands-on Interaction: We set up a traditional 'Baithak' seating arrangement on the floor, making it feel less like a school and more like a gathering of friends.
  • Creative Play: We pair the music with our 'Color & Learn' worksheets and DIY clay modeling activities, ensuring that the learning is tactile and visual.

Why this approach works

By combining storytelling, art, and direct instrument exposure, we remove the intimidation factor often associated with Shastriya Sangeet. Children don't just learn to identify instruments; they learn to associate them with joy, laughter, and bonding time with their parents. Whether you are a school looking for a unique workshop or a group of parents organizing a private session, our goal is to leave every child with a sense of wonder and a keepsake to remember the day.

I’m Madhumita, and for me, ShrotaHouse is about bringing the music I grew up with into your living room. We’re not teaching rigid theory here; we’re creating a space where your little one can giggle at a rhythm game, touch a Sitar, and fall in love with Indian sounds, just like I did.
