Athletics Coaching for Kids
I train kids to move, think, and compete with grit. From obstacle course preparation to foundational speed, we build resilience one session at a time.
This is my student Vivian, who won first place in his age category at the Wild Warrior obstacle course race. We train kids to be resilient and strong, ready to climb, crawl, and conquer any challenge.
Partner workouts make training fun and build teamwork. Here, young athletes are doing wheelbarrow walks and partner sit-ups, learning that exercise can be a playful and cooperative activity.
About this collection
We don't just exercise at the stadium. We train for the real world. In my sessions, your child will learn to army crawl, conquer obstacles, and master proper running mechanics. I push them not just to participate, but to find their inner warrior, whether that means winning a competition like the Wild Warrior race or simply mastering a complex partner drill.
Building the Warrior Mindset
I coach kids from the age of six, but my approach is not about drills for the sake of drills. It is about fostering a hunger for improvement. We use the synthetic tracks at Kanteerava Stadium and outdoor spaces to teach the fundamentals of sprinting, agility, and movement. My training methodology is simple: discipline, proper form, and fun.
What We Cover
- Obstacle Course Prep: We train for real-world resilience. Kids learn to crawl, climb, jump, and handle physical challenges that test their grit.
- Partner Drills: To build teamwork, we use partner exercises like wheelbarrow walks, sit-ups, and agility games. It turns hard work into a shared victory.
- Running Mechanics: We focus on the basics of a good sprint, helping kids find their stride early so they can grow into stronger, faster athletes.
- Discipline & Fun: A child's body does not always know the difference between play and exercise. I leverage that to build strength without the monotony of a typical gym session.
Why Train With Me
As an athlete, I know that everyone has the will to win, but very few have the will to prepare to win. Nammalala ethai jayikave mudiyatho, adha jayikirathuku try pannanum (we have to try for what seems impossible). When you sign your child up for these sessions, you are not just booking a class. You are giving them a foundation of physical literacy that will serve them long after they leave the track.
Shantha Murthy
I'm a sprinter and coach who believes true potential is built early. When I coach kids, I’m not just teaching them to run or jump, I’m helping them discover what their bodies are truly capable of. We keep it real, keep it moving, and keep it fun.
