About this collection
At this scale, structural integrity is as important as the aesthetics. We select massive, seasoned Vagai hardwood blocks and chemically treat them to prevent warping and termite damage. Whether you are installing a 6-foot Balaji in a private home or a 7-foot Meenakshi for a temple, the statue is carved to ensure deep 3D relief and Jali lattice work remain stable over decades.
Our large-format sculptures are defined by their complexity. Reaching heights of 4ft to 7ft, these pieces require more than just artistic skill; they demand an understanding of timber grain and structural load. Following Shilpa Shastra iconometry guidelines, we carve each deity with sharp attention to facial expressions, jewelry, and posture.
Techniques like Jali work—where we carve lattice patterns that allow light to pass through—add a distinct layer of sophistication, particularly on Prabhavali arches and deity attire. Unlike smaller decorative items, these masterworks undergo extensive drying phases before carving begins to minimize the risk of cracks in large single-cut or joined-log structures.
We manage the entire process from our Thammampatty workshop to your doorstep. Every large sculpture is bolted into custom-built, export-quality wooden crates with shock-absorbent layers. Because these pieces are significant investments, our shipping includes full insurance coverage, ensuring your heritage piece arrives in pristine condition.
