About Gods & Guardians
These stone sculptures are heavy, authentic pieces of art, not hollow decorations. When planning your entryway or garden corner, keep in mind that these statues are hand-carved from volcanic lava stone or dense sandstone, meaning they are built to weather Bangalore's rain and sun and actually gain character as they age outdoors.
Bringing Bali’s Energy Home
When we curate these pieces, we aren't looking for mass-produced items. We look for the soul in the stone. Whether it is a serene Ganesha idol for your entryway or a pair of traditional Foo Lions to stand guard at your garden gate, these sculptures bring a sense of history and grounding that modern materials just cannot replicate.
Choosing Your Guardian
-
The Foo Lions: Traditionally placed in pairs, these are the ultimate statement for an entrance. The male holds a ball representing the world, while the female protects the home. We recommend these for larger gardens or grand foyer entrances where they have the space to make an impact.
-
Lavastone Deities: Our Ganesha and Buddha figures are carved from volcanic lava stone. It is a porous, natural material that has a wonderful, dark grey texture. These are perfect for meditation corners, quiet balconies, or tucked away near a water feature.
A Note on Placement and Logistics
Because these pieces are made from solid rock rather than fiber or resin, they are heavy—often ranging from 30kg up to over 100kg for our life-size statues. Before you decide on a spot, ensure your surface is leveled and sturdy. We love seeing how our clients style these; some place them on stone plinths to elevate them, while others let them sit directly on the grass for a more rustic, embedded look.
If you are styling a balcony or a smaller indoor nook, you might want to look at our smaller accent figures instead of these grand guardians. However, if you are creating a garden landscape, a life-size statue surrounded by local ferns or bamboo creates an authentic Balinese garden vibe right here in the city.
The Bali Project
We are obsessed with how a single stone statue can completely shift the mood of a space. Every piece you see here is sourced directly from our artisan partners in Bali, carved by hand from natural stone to ensure no two statues are ever exactly the same.
