Beyond grand stages, we find our deepest expression in intimate classical recitals, soulful duets, and focused storytelling that brings ancient epics to life.

A moment of quiet connection from one of our duet performances. These intimate concerts with my partner, Rajendra, allow us to explore the profound relationship between divine figures like Radha and Krishna through the language of Kathak.

In this solo Bharatanatyam piece, I explore the playful and divine nature of Lord Krishna as he dances on the serpent Kalinga. Such solo performances allow for a deep dive into a character's emotions and story.

The enchanting tale of Kathak unfolds in every footstep. This is a moment of perfect synchronization from a group performance with our Abhinava Dance Company, where every dancer tells a part of the story.

A pose from my solo thematic presentation 'Ekaharya - Bhanika'. In these performances, I embody a single character and explore a spectrum of emotions, showcasing the depth of abhinaya.

The beauty of classical dance lies in its details, from the expressive eyes to the traditional jewelry. This is another glimpse from my solo performance, 'Bhanika', a deep exploration of a heroine's story.

Decoding the beauty of 'Tribhangi', the iconic three-deflection posture of Lord Krishna. This short piece explores how this sculptural pose is brought to life through the fluid movements of classical dance.

A group of our Kathak dancers from Abhinava Dance Company, telling a story in unison. The flowing costumes and graceful postures are hallmarks of this beautiful North Indian classical dance form.

Offering a 'Nrithya Seva' or dance service at a temple is a deeply spiritual and elevating experience. Here, we perform for Devshayani Ekadashi, sharing our devotion with fellow devotees in a sacred space.

Every time I embody Ahalya, I am reminded of her profound devotion. This solo piece from our 'Kathakirthan' production portrays her gratitude as she is brought back to life by Lord Rama's touch.

The synchronicity of our Kathak ensemble creates a mesmerizing visual tapestry on stage. Each dancer contributes to a collective story, their movements weaving together like threads in a fine fabric.

About Intimate & Classical Performances

For these intimate settings, our focus shifts to the subtle art of Abhinaya (expression) and the precise storytelling inherent in Kathak and Bharatanatyam. Unlike larger productions, these recitals allow us to engage directly with you and your guests, creating a shared spiritual space where every hand gesture and gaze reveals a deeper connection to the stories we portray.

While our large-scale productions bring the grandeur of the Ramayana and Mahabharata to the stage, our intimate performances serve a different, quieter purpose. These recitals, whether solo, duet, or small ensemble, allow for a raw, unfiltered connection between the artist and the audience. This is where we delve into the nuances of our art form, exploring the intricate footwork of Kathak or the evocative storytelling of Bharatanatyam in close proximity.

Why Choose an Intimate Performance?

  • Deep Storytelling: Without the distractions of large-scale LED visuals or set changes, the focus remains entirely on the narrative. We bring characters like Radha, Krishna, and Ahalya to life through focused facial expressions (Abhinaya).
  • Versatile Spaces: These performances are perfect for smaller gatherings, temple Nrithya Seva (offering of dance), or private functions where you want a meaningful cultural touch.
  • Direct Engagement: We often provide introductions and context in English or Kannada during these sessions, helping bridge the gap between the ancient texts and your audience. We want your guests to understand the meaning behind every Mudra (hand gesture) and movement.

Our Approach to Small-Scale Recitals

We design these sessions to be immersive. Whether it is a duet with my partner, Rajendra, or a solo classical piece, we bring the same discipline and aesthetic rigor that we apply to our grand musicals. We use traditional temple jewelry, authentic silk costumes, and a carefully selected repertoire that fits the mood of your specific occasion. If you are looking for a performance that feels less like a show and more like a shared journey into our cultural heritage, we would be honored to perform for you.
