About Sustainable Residential Architecture
I see a home as so much more than walls and a roof. It’s about how we live, connect with nature, and bring back those small joys - a verandah to sip chai, a courtyard to watch the rain, rooms that actually breathe.
Spaces That Breathe
My approach is simple: build with the climate, not against it. I work with natural light and cross-ventilation, so you never feel boxed in. Expect living rooms that spill into gardens, skylights that let in the morning sun, and balconies that don’t just hang there but become your evening adda.
Local Materials, Real Character
I use materials that feel like they belong - rammed earth walls, rugged stone, traditional Mangalore tile roofing, and handmade Athangudi floors. Filler slabs and jack arch roofs help cut down on concrete, keeping things cool and grounded. Every material has a story, every texture feels familiar.
Old Wisdom, New Twist
You’ll see lots of old-school touches: jagalis (sit-outs), courtyards at the heart, and jaali screens that play with light and air. But I don’t just repeat the past - I make it work for now, blending tradition with the way we actually live today.
See Before You Build
For every project, I make a real, physical model - not just computer images. You can hold it, peek inside, see how light and space work together before a single brick is laid.
If you’re dreaming of a home that’s as open and honest as you are, maybe we should talk.

My Story
We’re Sathya Consultants, been at this for 30+ years. It’s never just buildings for us - it’s about living well, living close to nature. Sometimes I just miss the cool stone floors, the verandah breeze, the way light shifts on a wall. We try to bring that back, you know? Eco-friendly isn’t a style, it’s a way of life. We want homes that feel alive, that breathe with you.
My Work
Eco-friendly architectural design - We design homes, learning centres, and more using sustainable, vernacular architecture and alternative building methods.
Natural and local materials - We love honest materials - rammed earth construction, stone walls, clay tiles. Let the real texture show up.
Spaces that connect with nature - Verandahs, open courtyard homes, gardens. We play with daylight and shadow design - it shapes how a space feels.
Right method for every project - Not just old materials, but knowing where and how to use them for a story that works.
