- Working Drawings: Comprehensive plans for interconnected classrooms, admin blocks, and assembly halls.
Passive Cooling & Masonry
- Earth Construction: Detailed layering specifications for Rammed Earth walls and Stabilised Mud Blocks (SMB).
- Natural Ventilation: Orientation planning using the Stack Effect to eliminate the need for daytime air-conditioning.
- Fenestration: Designs for signature circular Moon Gates and brick-jaali screens for light-and-shadow play.
Finishes & Implementation
- Flooring: Layouts for cost-effective Red Oxide and rough granite finishes.
- On-Site Guidance: Training for local masons on mixing and compacting mud to ensure structural safety.
Eco-Campus Landscape & Hardscape Design
Outdoor Community Zones
- Amphitheater Design: Structural plans for open-air theaters using natural stone or brick seating optimized for acoustics.
- Connectivity: Layout of meandering stone pathways connecting indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
- Shade Analysis: Positioning of seating areas to utilize shadows from existing trees or building overhangs.
Sustainable Play Structures
- Upcycled Equipment: Custom designs for play zones using painted tires, concrete tunnels, and earth mounds.
- Safety Detailing: Specifications to ensure recycled materials are smoothed and safe for child interaction.
Water & Ecology

About Sustainable Educational & Community Architecture
I design spaces that feel like they're part of nature, not just plonked on top of it. Over the years, I've seen how architecture can either cut us off from the outdoors or pull us back in. My goal is to bring back that lost connection - like the old verandahs and courtyards that let people live under the open sky.
Design That Feels Alive
- For me, schools and community spaces should never feel boxed in. I use playful shapes, airy layouts, and flowing forms to spark curiosity, especially for kids. Large circular openings, arches, and natural light everywhere - these aren't just pretty, they help learning and play blend together.
- I focus a lot on child-centric learning environments, where every corner invites exploration. Corridors spill into gardens, classrooms breathe with fresh air, and even the seating in community spaces is built for gathering, not just function.
Honest Materials, Local Touch
- Rammed earth school buildings, hollow clay blocks, jaalis, and natural stone are my go-to palette. These materials look good, last long, and keep the buildings cool. I try to use recycled stuff too - old tires turn into playful seating.
- With every project, I pay attention to the land and climate, aiming for climate-responsive campus design. That means plenty of cross-ventilation, lots of daylight, and buildings that just feel comfortable to be in.
Spaces That Connect People
- Think of open courtyards, outdoor community gathering spaces, and green corners that don't just look good - they pull people together.
- I always try to work with the land, not against it. Old trees stay where they are, and if possible, become part of the design story.
How It Happens
- Everything starts with a conversation. I listen, sketch, and rethink - until the space feels just right for the people who will use it. It's never just about walls and roofs. It's about life in between.

My Story
We’re Sathya Consultants, been at this for 30+ years. It’s never just buildings for us - it’s about living well, living close to nature. Sometimes I just miss the cool stone floors, the verandah breeze, the way light shifts on a wall. We try to bring that back, you know? Eco-friendly isn’t a style, it’s a way of life. We want homes that feel alive, that breathe with you.
My Work
Eco-friendly architectural design - We design homes, learning centres, and more using sustainable, vernacular architecture and alternative building methods.
Natural and local materials - We love honest materials - rammed earth construction, stone walls, clay tiles. Let the real texture show up.
Spaces that connect with nature - Verandahs, open courtyard homes, gardens. We play with daylight and shadow design - it shapes how a space feels.
Right method for every project - Not just old materials, but knowing where and how to use them for a story that works.
