About Sustainable Residential Architecture
For me, home should feel alive. I try to design houses that aren't just about walls and roofs, but about sparking a sense of belonging—spaces that hit you with calm the second you walk in. I call this idea 'Arivu', which just means 'to sense'. It's how I approach every project.
Listening First
Every home starts with a chat. I want to know your story, your quirks, even those little details about where you grew up. Had a client say, "Namage eradu uddesha ittu... Malenadu irabeku," meaning, they wanted Hampi’s vibe but with a Malenadu heart. That sort of mix is what I love weaving into design.
Letting the Land Lead
I work with the site, not against it. If there's a big rock or an odd plot shape, I’ll wrap the house around it instead of bulldozing it away. You get a home that actually feels like it belongs there.
Honest Materials & Smart Techniques
- Terracotta, stone, and exposed brick are my go-tos for that earthy warmth. All locally sourced building materials—keeps the house healthy and fits the vibe.
- I use features like courtyards, skylights, and jali screens for natural light and passive cooling techniques. Makes the air flow easy and keeps energy use down.
- Filler slabs and jack arch roofing for better insulation and less waste.
For City Plots or Hill Retreats
Whether it's a tight city house or a farmhouse, my goal is the same: climate-responsive architecture that lets your home breathe with you and nature.

My Story
I'm Chetan from Kham Design. Honestly, a house isn’t just bricks and paint. It’s the way sunlight hits that old rock, or the feeling you get when you walk in—like Gifty’s family said, 'ನಾವು ಒಟ್ಟು ಈ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ a piece of mind ಇದೆ.' (Here, we’ve got peace of mind). We don’t fight the land. We listen. Sometimes a rock stays, sometimes a memory shapes a wall. That’s how we work.
My Work
What we do - We design homes, farmhouses, and apartments—right from architecture to interiors, anywhere in India.
Eco-friendly & sustainable homes - We use natural light, local stone, and terracotta. Our eco-friendly house design means less bills, more comfort.
Designing with the land - Split-level farmhouse architecture, city homes—every site is different. We let the land lead, not force it.
Your story, your space - Want a Mangalorean heritage home vibe? Or something that feels just like Malenadu? We weave your story into the plan.
