Our Samarpana Ensemble: Carnatic Music & Dance Collective
We are a collective of dancers and musicians in Bengaluru, united by our love for Mohiniyattam and Carnatic music. Join our family for a journey of rhythm, devotion, and community.
A candid moment with our guru and the younger members of our Samarpana family. We foster a nurturing environment where every student feels at home, building a strong foundation of trust and togetherness.

Another perspective of our group on stage, with our young performers seated for their recital. This highlights the structure of our stage productions, where every student gets a chance to shine.
A glimpse into the more advanced and experimental work our ensemble undertakes. This performance at a Mahabharata retreat shows how we encourage continuous artistic exploration beyond standard Carnatic vocal training.
About Our Samarpana Ensemble: On & Off Stage
Stepping onto the stage with live violin and mridangam accompaniment is where the real learning happens. It is not just about hitting the right notes, it is about feeling the rhythm of the ensemble. When our students perform, they are not just presenting a piece; they are contributing to an archana—an offering that brings our whole family together.
We believe that art thrives in community. At our Gottigere space, the boundary between student and teacher often fades, replaced by the shared goal of creating something beautiful. Whether it is our Bindaas Kutti team performing their first pieces or our advanced students tackling complex Varnams, the focus remains on the joy of the journey. We integrate classical discipline with a sense of play, ensuring that every raga or adavu learned is rooted in tradition but expressed with personal sincerity. This collective approach allows even beginners to participate in ensemble work early on. By removing the pressure of performance and replacing it with the spirit of samarpanam—a humble submission—our students develop confidence naturally. You will find that our classes in Bangalore are as much about the conversations and laughter between sessions as they are about the technique. We invite you to join us, not just to learn, but to be a part of a collective that values every voice and step.
