Dance is freedom, and these retreats are my way of sharing that. Join me in spaces like Goa or Ladakh to move, breathe, and reconnect with your own rhythm.

This is an invitation to my Goa retreat, a 5-day immersive experience by the sea. We focus on technique rooted in Kathak and contemporary movement, using the soul of Goa to inspire our own stories.

A little more about me and my vision for the Rangwang retreats. My training is rooted in Kathak, but my passion is to create a space where every dancer can experience freedom and expression.

Morning yoga is an essential part of my Rangwang retreats. It helps us connect with our bodies and breath before we begin our dance sessions, as seen here in this peaceful garden flow.

About this collection

These retreats are not about perfecting a routine; they are about unlearning the stiffness we carry from our daily lives. Whether we are in the hills of Ladakh or by the beaches in Goa, my goal is to guide you through a mix of morning yoga, Kathak technique, and evening storytelling workshops so you return feeling lighter, grounded, and genuinely connected to your own body.

Finding Your 'Rangwang'

'Rangwang' literally means freedom, and that is exactly what I set out to create with these retreats. I spent years chasing stages and busy schedules in Mumbai and London, but I realized that the real magic doesn't happen just under the spotlight. It happens when we step away, slow down, and allow ourselves to be messy, shaky, and real.

The Retreat Rhythm

Each retreat is a 5-day journey designed to balance structure with spontaneity. We don't just dance; we immerse ourselves in the destination.

  • Morning Flow: We begin with yoga to open the body and calm the mind. It’s about building a connection with your breath before we even touch upon Kathak footwork.
  • Kathak & Abhinaya: These sessions focus on the core of my practice—rhythm and storytelling. You don't need to be a professional dancer. We focus on the 'why' behind the movement, using abhinaya (expression) to tell your own stories.
  • Local Immersion: We explore. Whether it's a heritage walk or a local meal in Goa, we integrate the environment into our movement practice. It’s about feeling like you’re part of a 'Ghar wali Diwali' dance family, even if you’re miles away from home.

Who is this for?

You don’t need to be a Kathak expert to join. These retreats are for anyone looking to push their physical boundaries, explore contemporary fusion, or simply find a safe space to express themselves. We create a non-judgmental environment where we grow together, support each other, and document the process through collective showcases.

If you have been looking to dive deeper into Chakkars, refine your Tatkar (footwork), or just need a pause from the city chaos to find your own flow, come join the family.

I'm Saloni, a Kathak dancer who lives for that 'ghar wali Diwali' feeling, whether I'm in Mumbai or London. I started these retreats to create a safe, messy, and beautiful space where we can explore movement without judgment. It’s less about training and more about coming together as a dance family.
