Featured Dance Moments: A Journey Through Movement

Dance is my way of finding freedom. Whether it is a quiet, expressive solo in a studio or the collective energy of a workshop in Mumbai or London, these moments define what Rangwang is all about.

This is the essence of storytelling through dance. A solo piece where I explore the emotions of love and longing, using a blend of contemporary movement and classical expression.

The energy in my London classes is something else. This was an unedited, raw moment from my last class before moving to Mumbai, a room full of joy, grace, and the power of our dance family.

My Rangwang retreats are my favourite offering. This poster captures the spirit of our Ladakh retreat, a 5-day journey of dance, flow, and finding freedom in the breathtaking mountains.

A semi-classical collaboration with a fellow dancer. This piece shows my roots in Kathak, focusing on synchronized movements, grace, and the joy of creating together in the studio.

Exploring movement and connection through a contemporary fusion piece. This is an example of the partner work we sometimes explore in my intensives, focusing on trust and flow.

A look inside one of my high-energy beginners' Bollywood workshops. It's all about fun, twirls, and celebrating together, no matter your experience level.

A moment of stillness and grace captured during a photoshoot. For me, dance is not just about big movements, but also about the quiet poses and the stories they tell.

About this collection

What you see here captures my journey between traditional Kathak technique and modern, experimental flow. In every session, whether a 2-hour Bollywood pop-up in Khar or an intensive weekend in London, we focus on the storytelling—the abhinaya—rather than just the steps. You are not just learning a routine; we break down the rhythm and emotion so you can express yourself, even if you are just starting out.

My work is rooted in Kathak, but it thrives on the messiness of experimentation. I created 'Rangwang' to be a space where that freedom isn't just a concept, but something we practice.

The Rangwang Approach

My classes, whether in a high-energy studio in Mumbai or a collaborative space in London, are designed to feel like a family gathering. We move, we sweat, and we tell stories.

  • Technique Meets Play: In my weekend intensives, we deep-dive into Kathak spins (Chakkars) and Tatkar footwork, but we balance that precision with contemporary flow. It is about building a strong foundation so you feel confident enough to improvise.
  • Bollywood & Beyond: For those who want to jump in and dance, my 2-hour pop-ups are designed to get you moving quickly. We pick a trending track, break down the hook steps, and by the end, we film a group video—not for perfection, but for the joy of sharing that energy.
  • Finding Your Story: The retreat sessions, like my trips to Ladakh or Goa, are where the 'Rangwang' philosophy truly comes alive. Away from the city chaos, we combine dance with yoga, heritage walks, and long conversations. It is a full immersion into how movement connects us to our surroundings.

Whether you are joining me at a studio in Khar or Andheri, or catching one of my workshops abroad, the goal is simple: to leave the studio feeling a bit lighter, a bit more connected, and a lot more free.

I am a Kathak dancer who found my home in the chaos of Mumbai and the rhythm of London. For me, dance is a conversation, a way to connect, and a place to just be yourself, messy and beautiful.
