Authentic South Indian Vegetarian Dishes for Traditional Events
From crispy masala dosas to aromatic, temple-style Puliyogare, we prepare every dish using time-honoured recipes and the purest ingredients, just like we have since 1986.
Benne Masale Dose, a classic Karnataka favourite. This crispy dosa is cooked with a generous amount of butter, giving it a rich flavour and a beautiful golden texture. It is served with our traditional potato palya and coconut chutney.
Our special open-faced masala dosa, a colourful and delicious breakfast option. It's topped with a mix of vegetables, coconut, and herbs, and served with a dollop of butter, making it both healthy and tasty.
Aloo Bonda is a perfect evening snack. Spiced mashed potatoes are dipped in a gram flour batter and deep-fried until golden and crispy. Served hot with ketchup or chutney, it's a simple yet heavenly treat.
A classic Masala Dosa, perfectly folded and served in a traditional segmented plate with our flavourful pumpkin sambar and fresh coconut chutney. A staple at our breakfast catering events.
Another look at our classic Masala Dosa, a timeless favourite. The crispy outer layer and soft potato filling make it a comforting and satisfying meal for any time of the day.
Puliyogare, or tamarind rice, is a temple-style classic known for its tangy and spicy flavour. We prepare it with our special spice mix, peanuts, and curry leaves, ensuring an authentic taste in every bite. Here it is being mixed in a large batch for an event.
Vangi Bath, a traditional brinjal rice from Karnataka, is a flavourful one-pot meal. We use tender brinjals and our freshly ground vangi bath powder to create this aromatic and delicious dish, often served with raita or chutney.
A close-up of our aromatic pepper pulao, garnished with cashews and fried red chillies. This mildly spiced rice dish is a wonderful alternative to plain rice and pairs well with any gravy.
Our flavourful rice preparations are a cornerstone of our menu. This dish, served on a banana leaf, showcases the texture and aroma of our cooking, a perfect main course for any feast.
We believe presentation is just as important as taste. Here, one of our team members proudly holds a plate of freshly prepared rice, ready to be served to guests.
About A Taste of Tradition: Our Signature Dishes
When we prepare our signature Puliyogare or Vangi Bath for your event, we use our own family-blended masalas, ground fresh instead of using pre-made packets. This ensures the authentic, home-cooked aroma that many of our clients specifically look for to make their puja or wedding meal feel truly traditional.
At RVR Foods, we believe that food is not just about sustenance; it is a way of serving with love. Our kitchen operates on the philosophy of 'Naga nagutta badisbeku' (serving with a smile), ensuring that the positive energy we feel while cooking translates to the dining experience at your event.
Why Our Signature Dishes Stand Out
- Authentic Preparation: We follow traditional methods, including Madi Adige (pure cooking practices), to maintain sanctity for religious functions and pujas.
- Freshly Ground Masalas: Whether it is our tangy Puliyogare or the spice-rich Vangi Bath, we use spices prepared by our own team. We avoid ready-made stock, which is why the taste remains consistent with the recipes my father, Ranganath Iyengar, perfected decades ago.
- Customized Menu Planning: While we are proud of our Iyengar classics, we are equally comfortable creating fusion spreads. Our live counters, featuring options like Pizza Dosa and Chaat, are designed to add a modern interactive element without losing the authentic base flavours.
Catering for Every Occasion
We bring the same dedication to every setting, whether it is a small housewarming with 25 guests or a grand wedding banquet for 10,000.
- Festive Specialties: During Gauri and Ganesha festivals, we are known for our Sihi and Khara Kadubu, steamed fresh in banana leaves to capture that unique, earth-scented aroma.
- Traditional Banana Leaf Feasts: For a truly immersive experience, we offer traditional sit-down service where every course, from the initial Panaka to the final Beeda, is served with rhythmic precision.
We welcome you to discuss your specific requirements. When you book with us, you are not just hiring a catering team; you are bringing a decades-old tradition of pure vegetarian cooking to your family's table.
