About this collection
We believe stage time is as important as studio time. Whether our students are mastering the intricate bols (rhythms) of Kathak for a formal exam or presenting a contemporary piece at the Chinna Kalanadam festival, we ensure they have the tools to perform with confidence and joy.
At Rhythmotion, our approach to training is rooted in the lineage passed down by my Guru, Dr. Maya Rao, but adapted for the modern student. We don't just teach steps; we focus on the holistic development of the dancer.
Certification and Discipline
We prepare students for formal examinations under the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal. This process is rigorous. It demands a deep understanding of nritta (pure dance) and abhinaya (expression). While the discipline can be intense, the pride students feel when they secure a Distinction or First Class makes it worthwhile. We provide the theory, the practice, and the mock assessments to ensure they walk into the exam room feeling prepared.
Beyond the Studio
We actively create platforms for students to showcase their learning. Participation in events like the Chinna Kalanadam festival allows students to experience:
