Bring your broken toys and torn clothes back to life. Our workshops teach children the joy of fixing, patching, and upcycling their most cherished possessions.

An older family member passes down the skill of sewing to a young girl. We believe in intergenerational learning and the value of preserving traditional repair skills like mending clothes.

This cherished Yoda toy has seen better days, with a tear down its back. In our workshops, we show kids how to perform simple repairs like this, saving their favorite companions from being discarded.

With focused concentration, a young boy stitches up his favorite toy. This activity not only teaches a practical skill but also fosters a sense of responsibility and care for one's belongings.

A young girl carefully repairs a football during our Hyderabad workshop. We teach that repair is not limited to electronics or clothes; even sports equipment can often be fixed with a little ingenuity.

A young participant learns the art of patching, a fundamental skill in clothes mending. This simple technique can fix holes, cover stains, and add a unique decorative touch to any garment.

One of our mentors demonstrates how to repair a torn bag. Our workshops cover a wide range of fabric repairs, from simple stitches to fixing zippers and reinforcing straps.

Welcome to the "Toy Hospital." This video shows kids working together to create a space dedicated to mending broken toys, a wonderful community initiative that teaches repair, reuse, and teamwork.

A beautiful example of visible mending on a pair of running shoes. We teach kids that repairs do not have to be invisible; they can be a creative expression that adds character and tells a story.

A group of girls sit together, deeply engaged in a sewing session. Our workshops create a calm and focused environment where kids can learn at their own pace and share tips with each other.

Success. A participant proudly shows off a remote control car that she fixed during our workshop. The smile on her face is the reason we do what we do.

About Creative Clothing & Toy Mending

Our mending sessions are fully hands-on, meaning your child brings their own broken toy or worn-out clothes to the table. We do not provide pre-made kits, but we provide the mentorship needed to fix these items together, turning a simple patch or stitch into a moment of pride and a vital lesson in taking care of what we own.

Beyond The Repair

We see mending as a way to connect with our belongings. In our Creative Clothing and Toy Mending workshops, kids learn that an item does not need to be replaced just because it is damaged. Whether it is a teddy bear with a tear or a favorite pair of jeans with a hole, the act of repairing teaches patience and problem-solving.

What Kids Will Learn

We focus on practical, transferable skills that kids can use for years to come:

  • Traditional Mending: Learning the art of darning, which is perfect for socks and knitted items.
  • Creative Patching: Using visible mending to turn a flaw into a design feature. We encourage kids to view repairs as creative expression.
  • Textile Upcycling: How to take old t-shirts or fabrics and transform them into something new and functional.
  • Toy Hospital Concept: Inspired by our community projects, we teach kids to perform 'surgery' on their toys. This includes stitching limbs back on, reinforcing stuffing, and securing loose parts.

Why We Do This

The 'Repair Maadi' (Let's do the repair) movement is about more than just fixing objects. It is about fostering a culture of care. When a child successfully repairs a toy, they feel a sense of agency and responsibility. It shifts their perspective from being a consumer to being a caretaker. We keep our batch sizes small—between 10 and 15 kids—to ensure that every participant receives the individual attention needed to master these techniques.
