Celebrating Every Successful Repair

These are our favorite moments—the proud smiles when a broken toy, shirt, or gadget comes back to life. Every photo here is a little victory for the planet and a boost of confidence for our young tinkerers.

Two young girls proudly display the books they made themselves in our bookbinding workshop. The sense of accomplishment from creating something with your own hands is priceless.

A young boy holds up his repaired Spiderman t-shirt and a "Fixed!" sign. Every successful repair, no matter how small, is a victory for him and a win for the planet.

Three happy participants showing off their newly bound books. We love seeing the pride they take in their finished work.

Two friends sit proudly with their repaired bicycle and other items. Our workshops are not just about fixing things; they are about building friendships and sharing in the success of a job well done.

This young fixer is all smiles after successfully repairing a toy walkie talkie and a football. He is holding a "Fixed!" sign, a symbol of his newfound skills and confidence.

A mother and son proudly display the clock they repaired together. Our workshops are a great opportunity for families to learn and create together.

"We fixed it!" A mentor and a group of kids celebrate a successful electronics repair. This moment of shared achievement is what our community is all about.

About The "Fixed It!" Gallery

Not everything you see in these photos started out working perfectly. We celebrate the messier side of learning too—the broken circuits and stopped clocks that taught us more than a finished product ever could. When you join our sessions, you are not just paying for a fix; you are signing up to get your hands dirty, make a few mistakes, and learn the real-world skills to solve problems on your own.

More Than Just Fixing

At our core, we believe that 'Don't throw, FIX!' isn't just a catchy slogan—it is a mindset. When kids join our workshops, they are moving from being passive consumers to active creators. Whether it is learning how to hold a soldering iron, troubleshooting a laptop fan, or finally patching that bicycle tube, the goal is simple: helping children build the confidence to handle the material world around them.

What Our Sessions Look Like

We don't do boring lectures. Our workshops are intentionally interactive and small-batch, ensuring that every kid gets actual guidance.

  • The Process: We bring tools, guidance, and community. You bring the broken stuff (and the curiosity).
  • The Learning: From home electricals and gadget troubleshooting to textile mending and bicycle maintenance, we cover the essentials of daily living.
  • The Outcome: Sometimes, the repair is successful on the first try. Sometimes, it takes a few attempts, and sometimes, the item remains broken. That is perfectly okay. We teach that the value lies in the effort and the understanding of how things work, not just in the final result.

Why 'Repair Maadi'?

Based in Bengaluru but active across India, our motto 'Repair Maadi'—meaning 'Do the repair'—is a call to action. It is about taking responsibility for the things we own. We encourage you to look at that pile of 'junk' in your backyard or garage with new eyes. Is it really trash, or is it just waiting for a little bit of care and a new skill to be learned?

Repair Cafe Collective

Starts from 500 per child per workshop

We are a messy, enthusiastic mix of parents, tinkerers, and artists who are tired of seeing good things get thrown away. Instead of theory, we guide kids through the actual, hands-on process of bringing old stuff back to life, whether it is a bicycle chain or a torn t-shirt.
