Fixing Electronics & Gadgets: Hands-On Workshops for Kids
We help kids move from being gadget consumers to gadget fixers. Join our interactive sessions to learn how electronics work from the inside out.
Teamwork makes the dream work. Here, kids collaborate to disassemble and inspect laptops during a summer camp workshop. They learn to identify different components and understand how they function together.

About Fixing Electronics & Gadgets
One thing to keep in mind: we do not provide the hardware kits. To get the most out of these sessions, your child will need a basic home toolkit, including a screwdriver set, pliers, and a tester. It is better they learn on the tools they will actually use at home, and getting them comfortable with their own gear is half the fun of fixing.
Our workshops demystify the tech kids use every day. We cover home electricals, teaching basics like circuits, continuity testing, and safety. Then we dive into gadgets, helping students safely open and troubleshoot laptops or mobile devices. We also introduce soldering for wire repair. Because we operate online via Google Meet, we keep batch sizes small, around 10 to 15 kids, so every participant gets guidance from our mentors.
We do not strive for perfection here. Sometimes a device stays broken, and that is okay. The goal is to build the habit of tinkering. 'Repair Maadi' is our mantra, which means 'just do it.' By failing, trying, and learning together, kids gain the confidence to handle technical challenges long after the workshop ends. Whether it is a toy helicopter, a remote, or a laptop, we want children to see the value in maintaining what they own instead of tossing it in the trash.
Repair Cafe Collective
We are a collective of volunteers, parents, and tinkerers who believe 'don't throw, fix!' We run these workshops not to lecture, but to get kids comfortable with screwdrivers, wires, and the satisfaction of solving a technical problem on their own.
