Don't just take our word for it. Watch these young tinkerers share how they fixed their own bicycles, electronics, and clothes right at home.

Our students are our biggest advocates. In this video, you will hear them talk about fixing everything from bicycles and laptops to clothes and electronics. They share how our program helped them become the go to repair expert in their homes.

"I fixed this chair!" Watch as this proud young repairer explains how he fixed a broken chair using brake wires and insulation tape. This is what our program is all about, empowering kids to see a problem and create a solution with their own hands.

About Hear From Our Young Tinkerers

It is one thing to learn a skill in a workshop, but it is entirely different when your child calls you over to fix a leaky tap or adjust their bicycle brakes themselves. When kids realize they do not need to throw things away, their confidence shifts, and they stop seeing themselves as just consumers and start seeing themselves as problem solvers. We have seen students go from nervous beginners to the designated repair expert in their own homes.

The best feedback we get isn't that a child enjoyed the class, but that they went home and actually used what they learned. In our Tinker Kinder workshops, we cover five life skills: home electricals, bicycle maintenance, laptop troubleshooting, basic plumbing, and textile mending. By teaching kids that things can be fixed, we are giving them a sense of agency. They learn that a loose chair leg or a stiff bicycle chain is not a reason to discard the object, but an invitation to tinker. We focus on a hands-on approach where mistakes are welcomed as part of the process. Whether it is soldering a broken wire or learning to use an Allen key for a seat adjustment, the goal is practical application. Our sessions are interactive and held via Google Meet, ensuring that no matter where you are—from Bengaluru to Mumbai—you can join the movement. We encourage you to look through our gallery to see the 'Fixed It!' moments that our students are most proud of. If your child is curious, ready to get their hands a bit messy, and wants to learn how the world works, they will fit right in with our community.

Repair Cafe Collective

Starts from 500 per child per workshop

We are a collective of teachers, makers, and tinkerers who believe that the best way to learn is by doing. We started this to help kids stop tossing things aside and start seeing the potential in every broken toy or bicycle.
