About Power Kicking & Striking Drills
Power isn't just about how hard you hit; it's about the waist rotation and core engagement behind every strike. When you train with me, we break down every movement—from the way you turn your hip to how you keep your leg straight—so you aren't just flailing, you are striking with intent. Whether you are a kid learning your first front kick or an adult refining your technique, we train until the movement becomes muscle memory.
How We Build Your Kick
Many people think Taekwondo is only about speed, but true power comes from your core and your form. In our Power Kicking & Striking sessions at our Ulwe academies, we focus on the mechanics that separate a beginner from a champion.
Why Form Matters First
Like I always say: kick मारते time, waist घुमाना mat भूलना. If your waist doesn't turn, your kick loses its force. We start with slow, deliberate repetitions, focusing on the chamber, the extension, and the snap. We don't rush to the bag until your technique is solid.
Training Methods
- Pad Work: We use handheld paddles for precision. I hold these to ensure you are aiming correctly and hitting with the right part of your foot.
- Bag Work: Heavy bags help you feel the impact and build the bone density and strength needed for full-contact striking.
- Air Kicks: This is for speed and agility. We work on your ability to land multiple strikes in rapid succession.
- Partner Drills: You will work with peers to practice distance management and timing, which is crucial for real-world sparring.
Whether you are training for a competition or just looking to get fitter and stronger, these drills will change how you move. We have students of all levels here in Sector 2, 9, 17, and 21 of Ulwe, and every one of them is working toward their personal best.
