About Advanced Sparring (Kyorugi) Training

Sparring isn't just about hitting hard. When we put on the chest guard, we focus on reading the opponent, managing your breathing, and knowing exactly when to throw that back kick. I am right there in the ring with you, correcting your foot pivot and waist rotation mid-match so you don't build bad habits that cost you points at tournaments.

In our advanced Kyorugi sessions, we move beyond basic kicks to master the strategy of competition. We focus on current World Taekwondo (WT) rules and adaptation to electronic scoring sensors, like the Daedo systems used in national tournaments. I make sure you are not just reacting to your opponent, but thinking several steps ahead. We break down your stance, your distance, and your timing.

Many students come to me worried about contact. My approach is controlled, safe, and professional. We use full protective gear—chest guards, headgear, and focus mitts—to build your confidence before you ever step into a competition ring. We train in small, focused batches at our Ulwe locations, allowing me to give individual feedback on every round.

Whether you want to represent your school at the DSO Games or aim for a gold medal at the state level, this is where you build the stamina and mental toughness to survive the fight. We also focus heavily on agility drills and conditioning, because your fitness determines your speed on the mat. Remember, your opponent is your teacher, and every round is a lesson. Our 'Girls Power' athletes prove that skill knows no gender, and we are proud to train strong, disciplined fighters who are ready for any challenge.
