Sparring Practice (Kyurogi) for All Skill Levels
We focus on safe, controlled sparring to build your speed, reaction time, and confidence. Whether you are learning your first kick or preparing for competition, our sessions ensure you train the right way.

About Sparring Practice (Kyurogi)
During our Kyurogi (sparring) sessions, safety is non-negotiable. I personally oversee every match to ensure students use the full protective gear, including helmets, chest guards, and shin pads. We do not just focus on winning points. We practice controlling your kicks and movements, so you learn to spar with intelligence and precision rather than just force.
Kyurogi is where you put your training into practice. It is not just about fighting. It is about applying the speed, flexibility, and technique you learn during Poomsae forms in a live, moving environment.
Why Safe Sparring Matters
At my academy, I know that for many parents, the biggest worry is safety. That is why we start slow. Before anyone steps into a sparring match, they must be comfortable with the basics. We train with proper safety gear, and I supervise every match to make sure students follow the rules. This environment allows kids to test their reaction times without the fear of getting hurt.
Preparing for Competitions
If your goal is to compete at the District, State, or National level, these sessions are critical. We follow strict World Taekwondo (WT) guidelines, focusing on footwork, distance management, and high-kick accuracy. We align our drills with DSO rules so that when you step onto the tournament mat, you are not surprised by anything. You have already faced it in class.
Your Training Path
Whether you are training at our centers in Thane, Khar, Tardeo, Wadala, or Dombivli, the process is the same. We focus on:
- Reaction Speed: Using agility ladders and cones to improve footwork.
- Technique: Refining offensive kicks while wearing chest guards.
- Discipline: Learning the Kihap (loud answering) and respect for your opponent.
Sparring builds mental toughness as much as physical skill. You will learn to stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions, which helps you both inside and outside the academy. If you are ready to stop just practicing forms and start applying them, come join a class.
