A curated look at my slow-crafted pottery, the magic of hand-building, and the warm, wobbly moments shared at my Kalyan studio.

There is a special kind of magic in transforming a simple lump of clay into something beautiful. This video shows the hand-building process of creating one of my scalloped plates, from kneading the clay to stamping the final details. It’s a slow, mindful journey that I pour my heart into.

My studio is a place for connection, and I was so happy to host this lovely couple for a private pottery workshop. They created beautiful bowls etched with a memory of their trip to see the Aurora Borealis. It’s a joy to help people turn their special moments into lasting ceramic art.

The final touches are my favorite part. Here, I am hand-painting a delicate dragonfly design onto a ceramic bottle. Each brushstroke is a quiet moment of focus, bringing the piece to life before it goes into the kiln for its final transformation.

Most of my work is hand-built, but sometimes I love the challenge of the pottery wheel. This was my first time throwing with 5kg of clay. It was wobbly and imperfect, but so wonderful, just like life. The feeling of the clay spinning in my hands is a rush I truly enjoy.

There’s a comforting feeling in painting a little house on a plate. It reminds me that home isn't just a place, but a feeling of warmth and belonging. This piece was made in that calm mood, and I hope it brings a sense of comfort to whoever takes it home.

Here I am at the Delhi Potters Market, surrounded by my creations. Participating in markets is a chance to connect with people who appreciate handmade art. It’s heartwarming to see my work, from festive snowmen to everyday plates, find new homes.

Welcome to my studio tour! Building this little piece of heaven, complete with the picket fence I always dreamed of, was a journey. This space is where I create, teach, and find my calm, and I'm so grateful to share it with you.

About Featured

Every piece here starts as a raw lump of clay in my Kalyan studio. Whether you are looking at these hand-painted plates or considering a workshop, you will find that nothing is factory-made. We embrace the uneven edges and the quiet, slow process of creation—because a little wobble just means it was made by hand, not by a machine.

At my Kalyan studio, pottery is less about perfection and more about the connection. This collection showcases the hand-building techniques I cherish most: pinching, coiling, and slab construction. Unlike wheel-throwing which often demands high speed, hand-building allows me to slow down and carve stories into clay, whether it is a delicate dragonfly on a ceramic bottle or a cozy house scene on a plate.

If you visit for a workshop, you aren't just taking a class; you are joining a creative adda. We offer everything from single-session 'Clay Dates' for couples to a 6-session foundation course for those who want to learn the science behind the clay. My goal is to create a space where you can simply be yourself, sip some chai, and walk away with a piece of functional ceramic art that you shaped with your own hands.

Everything you see here—from the whimsical festive figurines to the everyday bowls—is finished in my studio. It is ready to become a part of your home or a handmade gift for someone special. If you want to see how these pieces come to life, I invite you to join a session and get your hands a little messy.
