Pottery Therapy Sessions in Powai
Pottery is my meditation, my sukoon. At Studio Meeraya, I invite you to leave the chaos outside, get your hands messy, and find peace through the simple, rhythmic art of clay.
Clay therapy is a real thing. We believe it's a powerful way to process emotions and let go of what's weighing you down. Here, a group of friends is literally smashing their frustrations away before starting to create.
When the world feels too loud, creating something with your hands can be the perfect antidote. This is me in my element, finding peace while glazing a batch of handmade mugs.
Some meditations are done with your eyes open. For me, working with clay is a form of active meditation that calms my mind and centers my soul.
This video highlights the top benefits of pottery, from stress relief and mindfulness to being a natural pain killer. It’s more than just a hobby; it’s a practice that nurtures your well-being.
This is what *sukoon* feels like. Me, the wheel, and a piece of clay. Pottery teaches detachment and the importance of 'me time', which is a necessity, not a luxury.
About Pottery as Therapy: Find Your Sukoon
In our therapeutic pottery sessions, we focus on the process rather than the final result. You don't need any prior experience to join. Sometimes the best part of the session is just pounding the clay to release a long week of stress, and I am right there to guide you, whether you are here to vent, learn, or just quiet your mind.
When the world feels too loud, I find that working with clay is the most effective way to hit the mute button. My studio in Powai is designed to be a safe space where you can disconnect from screens and reconnect with your hands.
Whether you are joining for a one-off session or a beginner course, the flow remains the same: we start by centering the clay, which forces you to be present. You might make a bowl, a mug, or something purely abstract—the shape doesn't matter as much as the stillness you feel while making it. I handle all the technical parts like trimming, drying, bisque firing, and food-safe glazing, so you can focus entirely on your creative process.
Pottery is widely known as a natural way to manage anxiety, and I see it happen in my studio every day. People walk in with heavy shoulders and walk out smiling, holding something they crafted themselves. Life hai bhidu, and sometimes you just need to get your hands covered in mud to remember what brings you joy. If you are looking for a break from your routine in Mumbai, come by for a session. No judgment, no pressure, just clay.
