Guru-Shishya Bond: Powerlifting Coaching & Mentorship
True strength comes from discipline and the right guidance. At Vis Orbit, we treat training as a sacred partnership where respect for the process leads to national-level results.
A coach is someone who has already walked the path. Respecting their effort is the most important thing. Here, I'm spotting a client on the bench press, passing on the knowledge my guru gave me.
Coaching a client through a 220kg deadlift. My job is to be there, providing the right cues and support to ensure a safe and successful lift.
Assisting a client with an overhead press. Proper spotting is about safety and giving the lifter the confidence to push for that extra rep.
My strength comes from my guru's presence. This video shows my training and competition lifts, all dedicated to making my coach proud.
We are nothing without our teachers. My coach, Ashish Bhandari, is the reason for my success. This is me competing under his guidance.
My guru ji, Ashish Bhandari, training in the gym. I learn as much from watching him as I do from his instruction.
My greatest strength is having my guru ji in front of me during a lift. This video shows a win that is as much his as it is mine.
About The Guru-Shishya Bond: Coaching & Mentorship
Most gyms just count your reps, but here, we focus on the relationship. When you train with me at Vis Orbit, I am not just correcting your form on the bench press or deadlift; I am teaching you how to respect the bar and the process. You get my personal attention, whether we are working through a 220kg deadlift or fixing a squat stall, ensuring you learn the same mental discipline that got me to the Nationals.
Powerlifting is a demanding sport that requires more than physical strength. It requires a mindset that can handle failure and success equally. My coaching philosophy is built on the Guru-Shishya bond, a concept that defines my entire journey under my own coach, Ashish Bhandari.
Why This Matters
When you step into the gym, you aren't just an client paying for a session. You are an athlete in training. My goal is to pass on the knowledge I have gained from years of competition, helping you avoid the mistakes I made early on. Whether you are aiming for your first competition or just want to build raw, functional strength, you need someone who watches your back and your technique.
How We Work
We focus on the foundations of powerlifting:
- Squat: Form is non-negotiable. We start with mechanics before moving to heavy weight.
- Bench Press: I teach you the specific set-up tricks that turn average presses into big lifts.
- Deadlift: We learn how to pull without ego, ensuring longevity and safety.
Training at Vis Orbit Gym in Shivalik Nagar, Haridwar, means you are part of a team that spots, pushes, and celebrates every win together. If you are serious about your progress and ready to show up with respect for the craft, let’s get to work.
