My Journey: From Engineer to Holistic Nutritionist

I didn't start in wellness. I was a software engineer navigating corporate stress until my own health journey led me to a new path. This is how I turned personal experience into professional guidance.

This feature by Careers of India beautifully captures my transition from an engineer to a nutritionist and entrepreneur. My journey is proof that it's never too late to follow your passion.

A timeline of my journey: from a Computer Science Engineer in 2005 to a certified nutritionist in 2020 and the founder of KuKClean in 2021. Every step has been a building block.

Why did I pursue computer science? It promised a secure job. Little did I know that my path would lead me back to my true calling in health and wellness.

My corporate journey included training freshers, which sparked my love for teaching. This experience, combined with my personal health transformation, laid the groundwork for my corporate wellness programs.

This is my story. It started in Bangalore in 2005 with a corporate job and a curious bite of cake that changed my life, leading me on a path to lose 28 kgs and find my purpose.

KuKClean was born from a simple thought process: I will not sell anything that I wouldn't give to my own daughter. This principle of clean, chemical-free food is the heart of my brand and my consulting.

I've seen how lifestyle diseases like diabetes and PCOS are on the rise. My work is dedicated to explaining that these are not just genetic, but are linked to our physical, emotional, and even spiritual lifestyle.

About this collection

I know the exact feeling of trying to balance a desk job, motherhood, and your health. When I lost 28 kgs, I wasn't following some fancy trend. I was just rediscovering the dal-chawal wisdom my grandmother always taught me. My transition from tech to nutrition wasn't about switching careers, it was about proving that you don't need magic pills or crash diets to get healthy—you just need consistent, simple habits.

How It All Started

Back in 2005, I moved to Bengaluru for my first corporate job. Like many of you, I was energetic but completely lost in the hustle. Between deadlines, canteen cakes, and the demands of life, my health took a backseat. It took becoming a mother and hitting a low point to realize that the 'corporate lifestyle' I was living was silent sabotage.

Why I Switched to Nutrition

I am a computer science engineer by training, and I still use that logic-driven mind today. When I decided to lose weight, I didn't want random advice. I started applying the same analytical rigor to my diet that I used to apply to code. I realized that the answer wasn't in western fads or expensive supplements. It was in the traditional, local, and seasonal foods we grew up with. Dal, chawal, roti, and sabzi were never the problem—modern, processed living was.

What I Bring to the Table

My work is built on three pillars:

  • Practicality: I don't offer theoretical, unachievable meal plans. I teach you how to manage nutrition while working a 9-to-5, handling household chores, or dealing with PCOS/thyroid issues.
  • Science-Backed Simplicity: Whether I am consulting for corporate wellness workshops or working with individual clients, I focus on what actually moves the needle—consistent, small changes.
  • Community Support: I know that the hardest part of any health journey is the isolation. That is why I create support groups where we track real habits, not just numbers on a scale.

Today, I run KuKClean and conduct workshops across Bengaluru, helping teams and individuals unlearn the myths of the health industry. If you are tired of quick fixes and want a roadmap that actually respects your roots and your lifestyle, let's talk.
