Hands-on Science & Art Workshops in Indiranagar
Skip the boring theory. At our Indiranagar lab, we build, code, and tinker to make STEM actually make sense for everyone.
A full house for our Intro to 3D Printing workshop! It's always exciting to see so many people eager to learn how to design and print their own creations. Participants got hands-on experience with TinkerCAD software.
What starts with a simple sketch on a whiteboard can turn into a battle of the bots! This is from our Doodle Bot workshop, where participants build their own drawing robots using a simple motor and circuit.
A glimpse into our pop-up art workshop, where participants learned the mechanics of paper engineering. Here, they are carefully measuring and cutting to create their own intricate pop-up structures.
The magic of cyanotype printing! In this workshop, participants foraged for leaves and flowers to create beautiful, sun-powered prints. It's a wonderful blend of nature, chemistry, and art.
A recap of our March workshops, from laser cutting to an introduction to Arduino. Each session is a chance to learn a new skill in a friendly, hands-on environment with fellow makers.
We had a fantastic time hosting a Kalamkari-inspired coding workshop with Scratch. Students learned to create digital block printing patterns, blending traditional Indian art with modern technology in a fun, collaborative way.
The room was buzzing with creativity during our stop-motion animation workshop at Underline Center. Participants used board game pieces and clay to bring their stories to life, one frame at a time.
About this collection
You won’t find any watch-and-learn lectures here. Whether you’re soldering your first circuit to build a Doodle Bot or learning 3D design software for a custom keychain, you’re the one holding the tools the entire time. We keep our groups small, so you get real 1:1 help from our facilitators the moment you get stuck.
Our Indiranagar makerspace is designed for the curious. If you are tired of theory-heavy classes, this is where you come to actually get your hands dirty. We host everything from beginner-friendly intro sessions to deep-dives into electronics and digital art, and our goal is always the same: make tech feel less like a school subject and more like a playground.
What to expect at the lab
- Small Batch Sizes: We keep the ratio low (roughly 6:1), so you aren't just one face in a crowd. You will have a facilitator nearby to help you debug your code or fix your circuit.
- Real Tools: You get guided access to the good stuff—soldering irons, laser cutters, 3D printers, and woodworking gear. We teach you how to use them safely so you can actually build things.
- Tangible Outcomes: Most workshops end with you holding something you made. Whether it’s a light-up badge, a digital game, or a 3D-printed accessory, you walk out with the result.
- No Experience Needed: We mean it. Whether you are a kid, a teen, or an adult who just wants to learn something new, we have a spot for you. There are no silly questions here.
Our sessions range from quick DIY maker workshops on weekends to intensive holiday camps where we really get into the weeds of animation or prototyping. If you have a group or a specific project in mind, let us know—we love hosting private sessions.
Paper Crane Lab
We’re Paper Crane Lab, a bunch of tech-loving, craft-obsessed folks based in Indiranagar. We treat our lab like a giant sandbox where learning code or soldering feels more like playing than studying. Come hang out with us and build something weird and wonderful.
