Electronics, Bots & Soldering Workshops

We make electronics less scary and way more fun. Come by our Indiranagar lab to build, break, and tinker with circuits, doodle bots, and soldering projects.

Here's our famous Doodle Bot! In this introductory electronics workshop, participants learn about simple circuits and motors by building this little robot that scribbles on its own. It's always a crowd favorite.

Our Doodle Bot dancing its way into the weekend! This little guy is powered by a simple motor with an off-center weight, causing it to vibrate and draw chaotic patterns.

A closer look at the Doodle Bot from our "Spark with Electronics" workshop. It's a perfect beginner project that combines creativity with basic mechanical and electronic principles.

Soldering can be an art form too! We encourage participants to practice their skills by creating these little "LED hoomins," which are fun sculptures made from resistors and LEDs.

A proud creation from our soldering workshop: a little LED person hoisting the Indian flag, made entirely of electronic components. A perfect example of creative circuits.

Put on your thinking caps! This poster for our Sci-Tech Quiz features our little LED people, showing how electronics can be both functional and artistic.

About this collection

We keep our electronics workshops super small—usually a 6:1 ratio—so our mentors can actually help you debug your circuit or fix that soldering iron mishap without the rush. You don't just watch us do it; you build, break, and rebuild your own doodle bot or LED sculpture from scratch, and yes, you take your creation home.

Why electronics with us?

Electronics shouldn't feel like a boring, intimidating lecture. At Paper Crane Lab, we’re all about the 'jugaad' (resourceful) spirit. Whether you are eight years old or eighty, our goal is to get your hands dirty with real components. We mix art with engineering—think light-up badges that double as fashion, or LED 'hoomins' (little sculpture people) that you solder yourself.

What happens in a workshop?

When you step into our Indiranagar maker space, expect a bit of chaos. It’s part of the process! We guide you through everything from reading a basic circuit diagram to using a soldering iron for the first time.

  • Doodle Bots: Learn about motors and off-center weights by building a little robot that scribbles chaotic art on paper.
  • Soldering 101: We don’t just solder for function; we solder for fun. You’ll learn how to join components to build sculptures, teaching you patience and precision without the pressure of a classroom.
  • No Experience Required: Seriously. Most of our participants walk in thinking they aren't 'tech people' and walk out with a working gadget. If you can hold a soldering iron, you are good to go.

Everything is provided—the LEDs, the batteries, the motors, and the tools. You just bring your curiosity, and we’ll make sure you don't burn your fingers (mostly). Come join us for a session, and you’ll leave saying, 'Aiyyo, that was fun!'
