Bench Press Power: Technique & Strength Training
300kg+ isn't just about strength; it's about technique and mindset. This is my journey to locking out heavy weights, showing the block training and raw lifts that build true bench press power.
A 285kg bench press from a block. This block training is key to building the strength to lock out 300kg plus.
Another 280kg bench press from a 3-inch block. This variation helps overload the top end of the movement.
A 265kg bench press rep. The goal of 300kg plus is not far away.
A 250kg bench press. Even on days when you feel heartbroken, the weights are still there.
A personal record of 177.5kg on the bench press, even with tennis elbow pain. In this game, you have to push through.
About Bench Press Power
You'll see me training with 3-inch blocks in these photos. This isn't just for show. It forces you to handle heavier loads and overloads the top end of the movement, which is essential if you want to break past your sticking point and finally hit a 300kg bench.
Bench pressing isn't just lying down and pushing. If you want to move real weight, you need to master your setup, your arch, and your lockout. I use block presses to overload the bar, helping you get comfortable with heavier weights than you are currently used to.
Injuries are part of the game. I’ve benched heavy even while dealing with tennis elbow pain. You learn to work around the pain while keeping your form tight. If you are struggling to increase your numbers, stop doing light sets and start focusing on heavy, quality reps. My training is simple: get strong, stay consistent, and do not give up when things get heavy.
Why My Method Works
- No-Nonsense: I don't give textbook advice. I teach what I have used to break my own records.
- Real Gear: I test everything. If I recommend a belt or chalk, it is because it held up under 340kg squats and heavy bench sessions.
- Mindset: Most people quit when the weight gets heavy. I train you to handle the pressure.
Whether you are a raw lifter or use equipment, the principles of strength remain the same. Stop looking for hacks and start putting in the work.
