We are more than just a dojo. Our community events, from annual ceremonies to public demonstrations, celebrate the discipline and bonds that define our karate family.

Our students demonstrating their skills, including kata, kobudo, and tameshiwari (fire breaking), for an audience. Public demonstrations are a great way for students to showcase their confidence and for the community to witness the power of karate.

The instructors and honored guests on stage during our 31st Annual Day and Black Belt Awarding Ceremony. This event is a celebration of our students' hard work and the continued growth of our federation.

The stage is set for the Republic Day Cup 2023. We host competitions to give our students a platform to test their skills, experience sportsmanship, and strive for excellence in a supportive environment.

A proud moment from our 30th Annual Day, celebrating the latest group of students to achieve the rank of black belt. This ceremony is the culmination of years of their tireless effort and dedication.

It is an honor to provide self-defense and unarmed combat training to law enforcement personnel. This group photo was taken during a session with women police recruits, empowering them with practical skills.

We were honored to host Sensei Yuki Okajima, winner of the 2024 Okinawa Traditional Kobudo World Tournament. Her visit was an incredible inspiration for our students, especially those passionate about Kobudo.

About Community, Events & Demonstrations

Stepping onto the mat for a public demonstration or a belt grading is where the real training manifests. It is not just about showing physical technique, but about demonstrating the composure and focus that my students have built over months of hard work. When you see our members performing kata or Kobudo weapons, you are watching the result of consistent practice and the support of a community that encourages every individual to move past their hesitation.

Our events serve a purpose beyond celebration. Whether it is our Annual Day, where we honor new black belt graduates, or our Republic Day Cup, these moments allow students to test their skills in a high-pressure environment. Performing in front of an audience helps students overcome stage fright and apply their training in a real-world context.

The Value of Community

We host regular gatherings to ensure that karate remains a social and supportive practice. When we bring in masters like Sensei Yuki Okajima from Okinawa, it is not for show. It is to remind our students that we are part of a global lineage. These interactions provide insights into Kobudo and traditional techniques that you cannot find in a textbook.

Outreach and Impact

Our demonstrations at schools, colleges, and for local law enforcement are intentional. We want to show the community that martial arts is a tool for safety, fitness, and mental toughness. If you attend one of our events, you will see a mix of ages and backgrounds, all united by the same objective: to train hard and stay humble. This is the spirit of Ganbatte—the commitment to keep going, regardless of the challenge.

I have spent over three decades teaching Shorin-ryu to ensure the traditions of my Okinawan masters continue here in India. My goal is to build a community where everyone, from young children to working professionals, finds the discipline to grow stronger every day.
