Authenticity is the foundation of my practice. I train directly under Hanshi Minoru Nakazato at the Honbu Dojo in Okinawa, bringing the traditional Shorin-ryu curriculum to our students in Bengaluru.

Receiving my 7th Dan Kyoshi certificate from Hanshi Minoru Nakazato in Okinawa. This rank is a testament to my commitment to the authentic teachings of Shorin-ryu Shorinkan.

It brings me great pride to see my students, Sensei Loyd Pinto, Senpai Pranav S V, and Senpai Veer Banerjee, receiving their Sandan and Nidan black belts in Okinawa.

About The Okinawan Connection: Training at the Source

When you train here, you follow a syllabus verified by the Honbu Dojo in Japan. My recent Kyoshi Nanadan (7th Dan) certification is not just a title; it is a commitment to ensuring that every Kata movement I teach here matches the precise techniques practiced at the source in Okinawa.

Why Lineage Matters

In traditional martial arts, the source is everything. Too often, forms are diluted over time, losing their intent and application. My focus is on preserving the integrity of Shorin-ryu Shorinkan. When we talk about our connection to Okinawa, it means there is no guesswork. Every strike, block, and pivot follows the syllabus set by Hanshi Minoru Nakazato.

Training at the Source

I frequently travel to the Honbu Dojo in Okinawa with senior students. This is not just a visit; it is an immersive experience that allows us to correct our techniques and bring back current insights directly from the source. It is where my senior students sit for their Dan gradings, ensuring that their black belt recognition is authentic, registered with the Japan lineage, and recognized globally.

Your Journey

Whether you are a beginner looking for discipline or an advanced practitioner preparing for a Dan rank, you are training in a system that rewards patience and grit. You will not find shortcuts here. You will find hours of conditioning, technical Kata correction, and weapon training with the Bo or Tonfa. This is not about getting a belt quickly; it is about the long-term development of character, confidence, and self-reliance that only consistent, authentic training can provide.
