33 Years of Traditional Okinawan Karate Legacy
From a small class of 14 students in 1992 to a community of thousands across India, we remain dedicated to the authentic techniques of Shorin-ryu Karate.
Celebrating 33 years of teaching Okinawan Karate-do. From just 14 students in 1992, we have grown into one of the largest martial arts organizations in the country.

About Our Legacy & Achievements
When you train with us, you are not just learning movements; you are joining a lineage that connects directly to the Honbu Dojo in Okinawa. Every black belt awarded at our federation is registered with the Shorin-ryu Shorinkan headquarters, ensuring that your grading is recognized globally and remains strictly rooted in the authentic tradition taught to me by Hanshi Minoru Nakazato.
Our Roots and Evolution
Our journey began on July 2nd, 1992, in Bengaluru. What started with just 14 students has grown into one of India’s largest martial arts federations, training over 50,000 students annually. This growth was never about numbers; it was about ensuring that the traditional Shorin-ryu system remains accessible while maintaining the highest standards of the Okinawan masters.
The Path to Black Belt
We treat the Black Belt not as a final destination, but as a commitment to a standard of conduct. Our grading process is rigorous and transparent. It includes:
- Technical Assessment: A full day covering Kata, Kumite, and physical conditioning.
- Global Registration: All ranks are verified and registered with the Shorin-ryu Shorinkan Honbu in Japan.
- Traditional Certification: Successful students receive a premium heavy-duty Kuroobi (black belt) with custom Kanji embroidery and an official diploma.
Annual Awards and Community
Our Annual Day is the centerpiece of our community calendar. It is a day where we honor the dedication of our students, from those receiving their first belts to senior members prepping for advanced Dan rankings. It is a moment for our federation to come together, celebrate the discipline shown throughout the year, and acknowledge the teachers, school management, and apartment associations who support our mission across over 30 schools in the country.
By keeping our training closely linked to our Honbu Dojo in Panduranga Nagar and our regular visits to Okinawa, we ensure that every student receives instruction that is consistent with global practices.
