You won't just learn kicks here. Every session is structured with a 20-minute calisthenics warm-up and high-intensity agility drills using ladders and hurdles before we even touch the mats for sparring. Whether you’re joining for self-defence or preparing for state-level competitions, expect to be pushed beyond your limits from day one.
More Than Just Kicks
At Oscar Taekwondo Academy, we don't believe in quick fixes. We build athletes. If you look at our training, you will see it is split between mental discipline, physical conditioning, and technical precision.
- The Agility Foundation: Before the sparring starts, our students work on speed. We use plastic agility ladders, mini-hurdles, and resistance bands to build the explosive power needed for competitive Taekwondo.
- Safe Sparring: We use high-quality chest guards and headgear to ensure students learn how to fight without risking unnecessary injury. Our goal is to simulate real competitive pressure in a controlled environment, so when a student steps onto the mat at a state tournament, it feels like practice.
- Discipline as Strategy: Our sessions are held on shock-absorbing 20mm EVA mats, but the real floor is the mind. I emphasize that an uncontrolled mind is a fighter's biggest enemy. We teach patience through deep stretching drills—yes, they are painful, but they are the only way to achieve the range of motion required for championship-level kicks.
