Master Bodyweight Skills: Gymnastics and Calisthenics Training
Gravity is just another challenge to overcome. Whether you are working toward your first pull-up or perfecting a handstand, our gymnastics-focused sessions give you the technique to move with control and power.
We welcome another member to the muscle-up club. Watch him achieve his first bar muscle-up, a high-level calisthenics skill that requires significant pulling and pressing strength.
Defying gravity is a skill we love to teach. Our skill sessions include focused practice on movements like the handstand, helping members build the core strength and balance needed to hold themselves upside down.
We believe in mastering bodyweight movements with the same precision as barbell lifts. This video demonstrates a complex bar series, flowing from a kipping pull-up to a chest-to-bar, hip-to-bar, and finally a muscle-up.
Each day is an opportunity to improve. Here, a member works on his legless rope climbs, a challenging exercise that builds immense upper body and grip strength.
We geek out on the details of training. This video compares two advanced pull-up variations: band-resisted pull-ups for explosive power and weighted pull-ups for building pure strength, explaining how each contributes differently to your goals.
About Skill Development: Gymnastics & Calisthenics
We do not just throw you on the bar and hope for the best. You will start with the basics—proper hollow-body positioning, shoulder stability, and grip strength—before moving to complex movements like muscle-ups or handstands. We scale everything, so whether you are totally new or a seasoned athlete, you are working at the right level for your current capability, not someone else's.
Bodyweight training is deceptive. It looks simple until you realize how much control, coordination, and strength it actually demands. At Mud and Mettle, we treat gymnastics and calisthenics with the same technical rigor as our barbell work. You are not just doing reps. You are learning how to apply force through every part of your body.
Technique First, Always
You might see a muscle-up and think it is all about the swing. Our coaches will show you it is about timing, grip, and the transition phase. We break complex skills into manageable, actionable progressions. If you cannot do a full pull-up yet, we work on scapular strength and negatives until you can. If you are ready for weighted movements, we introduce those to build capacity.
The Warehouse Environment
We train in an industrial warehouse setting in Jalahalli East because we care about the work, not the air conditioning. It is gritty, focused, and real. You will find yourself practicing handstands against our walls, using our pull-up rigs for muscle-ups, or tackling legless rope climbs. The environment reflects the training: raw and honest.
Why Join Us
Calisthenics is for everyone. We have seen total beginners walk into our gym, feeling intimidated by the rigs, only to nail their first strict pull-up a few months later. You get the benefit of semi-private coaching in a group setting—meaning you get the technical correction you need without the price tag of one-on-one personal training. If you are serious about mastering your own body, come train with our fit fam. We cheer when you get your first rep, and we cheer even louder when you turn that into five.
Mud and Mettle
We are a family of coaches who believe that mastering your own bodyweight is the ultimate form of strength. We do not do fluff; we teach you how to move well, build resilience, and get stronger alongside a community that actually has your back.
