Costume Design for Film and TV
I help directors and production teams bring characters to life. My work focuses on building authentic visual narratives that feel true to the story.
For Mouni Roy's character as a reality show host in LSD2, we created this bold and glamorous look. The olive green co-ord set with metallic detailing from Dilnaz Karbhary perfectly captures her character's confident and stylish persona.
Another look for Mouni Roy in LSD2, this time a stunning metallic saree from 431-88. The styling is modern and ethereal, designed to make her stand out on screen as the show's host.
A fun and flashy look for Mouni Roy's character. This sequined and feathered mini dress by Nikita Mhaisalkar is pure glamour, perfect for the high-stakes world of a reality TV show.
Styling Sophie Choudry as a judge on the reality show within the film LSD2. This vibrant lime green draped gown by Papa Don't Preach by Shubhika has incredible sculptural details on the shoulder and cuffs.
A full-length shot of Sophie's stunning lime green gown. The dramatic train adds to the high-fashion, on-screen presence required for her character. This is costume design that builds character.
A second powerful look for Sophie Choudry in LSD2. This metallic purple blazer dress by Uzair Parvez Khan paired with a leather bralette creates an edgy, fashion-forward silhouette for her judge character.
Another shot of Sophie's metallic blazer dress look. The sharp tailoring and reflective fabric were chosen to convey power and a keen sense of style.
The official poster for the Netflix film 'Nadaaniyan', starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor. I had a wonderful time working on the costume design for the primary cast, creating looks that reflected their youthful and fun characters.
A proud moment seeing my name and my team's names in the credits for our work as the costume designer team. This is a nod to all the hard work that goes into creating the visual world of a film.
About Costume Design for Film & TV
It is not just about selecting clothes. For projects like LSD2, I worked with the director to ensure every outfit, from a metallic saree to a sequined mini dress, told a specific story about the character's role in the reality show. I focus on how the fabric moves under studio lights and how it aligns with the actor's comfort during long shoot days to make sure the final look is perfect on camera.
Costume design is a deep collaboration. It starts with reading the script and understanding the character's motivation. For Nadaaniyan, we focused on youthful, relatable energy. For a high-stakes setting like a reality show in LSD2, the requirements shifted to bold, camera-ready glam that needed to stand out on screen.
Whether I am sourcing metallic sarees or experimental blazer dresses, the goal is always to support the storytelling. Film production moves fast, so my team and I stay on set to handle quick changes, wardrobe maintenance, and those last-minute fixes that keep the shots rolling. We handle the logistics, from organizing costume racks to steam ironing every piece, so the actors stay comfortable and the director stays focused on the take. My background from NIFT and Istituto Marangoni helps me understand the technical side of garment construction, but my real superpower is the ability to connect with the cast and crew. I love the chaos of a film set because that is where the real magic happens. If you need a design partner who speaks the language of production and understands visual storytelling, let us talk about your next project.
