The Reality of On-Set Styling
People often think styling for screens is just shopping, but it is actually about problem-solving under pressure. When I am on set, I am not just a stylist; I am a costume assistant managing continuity, wardrobe malfunctions, and the director's vision. Whether it is sourcing vintage jewellery for a period drama or pinning a couture gown so it moves perfectly on camera, the goal is always to make the look feel authentic.
Period Drama vs Reality TV

Period Drama (Heeramandi): This was a completely different beast. It required obsession with historical detail. Every choker, ring, and embroidery pattern had to align with the director's grand narrative. It was about creating a world that felt lived-in and regal.

Reality Television (Fabulous Lives VS Bollywood Wives): This is all about high-fashion personality. The focus shifts to bold statements, using pieces from designers like Dolce & Gabbana or Alexander McQueen to reflect the individual's brand. It is faster, punchier, and demands constant adaptability.
My Approach
Coming from a background in statistics, I look at projects with a structured, data-driven mindset even when the job is creative. I break down the script, figure out the logistics of sourcing, and manage the team to ensure we are never holding up a shoot. I treat every project—whether it's a big-budget series or an indie music video—with the same intensity. I am based between Mumbai and Delhi, but I am always ready to hop on a flight if the project demands it.
