The journey of a lampshade begins with a pencil sketch on greenware (unfired clay). This is where the design is carefully planned before any carving or color is added.
The first layer of color is applied to the lampshade design. This step starts to bring the pattern to life.

Every piece is fired in our own kiln, meaning I have full control over the final finish. Because these items are made by hand, expect slight, beautiful variations in every vase or lamp that ensure no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

What I Create
My studio in Jeevan Bima Nagar focuses on items that blend form and function:
- Vases & Vessels: From small bud vases to statement floor pieces, often featuring nature-inspired textures like leaf imprints or organic shapes.
- Lampshades: I enjoy working on light diffusion, carving patterns into the clay that create beautiful shadows when lit.
- Trinket Trays: Perfect for your bedside or entryway, these are often hand-built and pressed with real flowers or textures.
- Wall Art: Larger ceramic panels that transform empty walls into points of visual interest.
The Process
If you have a specific vision, we start with a conversation. We discuss the mood you want—perhaps something minimalist and calm, or something textured and raw. I often use wheel-throwing for symmetry or hand-building for those more whimsical, organic forms.
Since I handle everything from the initial sketch to the glaze application and firing in my own kiln, I can update you on how your piece is coming along. High-fired stoneware means these items are durable enough for daily use, not just for display.
