We believe a construction site should be a place of empowerment, not just work. Our all-women construction team brings skill, precision, and a fresh perspective to every project we undertake.

This is the heart of our work. A view from below, looking up at the proud faces of the women masons who built this earthbag dome. This image captures the joy, empowerment, and community spirit that we build into every project.

"Pengalaala mudiyaadhadhu edhuvum illai" (Nothing is impossible for women). This video shares the mission behind our initiative to upskill and train women in construction, addressing industry inequality and empowering them to become leaders.

Celebrating women in architecture matters. From mixing mud to operating machinery, our team of women architects and designers is challenging the industry disparity and paving the way for a more inclusive future.

In many cultures, women are the custodians of heritage and knowledge. We work with the Climate Heritage Network to highlight the intersection of gender and culture, facilitating inclusive and gender-responsive climate action.

We were proud to curate an event at COP27 focusing on the role of women as custodians of culture and key agents in building climate resilience. This is a crucial conversation for unlocking diverse knowledge systems.

Our co-founder, Rosie Paul, was part of a panel at the COP27 Resilience Hub. The discussion focused on unlocking diverse knowledge systems from marginalized groups and understanding their contribution to climate resilience.

We believe sustainability can't be a secret. In this interview, we discuss our principle of training local workers, especially women, in sustainable techniques rather than bringing in our own contractors. This is how we help the knowledge spread.

Caution: Women at Work. A behind-the-scenes look at our interactive installation at the India Art, Architecture and Design Biennale. This space was a celebration of making, collaboration, and female creativity.

A powerful sign at our biennale exhibit. We are proud to put women at the forefront of our work, both on our construction sites and in our creative installations.

Another shot of our "Women at Work" sign at the IAADB exhibition. It's a simple statement, but it represents a core part of our mission to create a more equitable construction industry.

About Building a Better Future: Empowering Women in Construction

When we take on a project, we do not bring in outside contractors. We train and upskill local women from the community to become master masons. This means when you hire us, you are not just getting an earth-friendly home, you are directly supporting a team that is learning, earning, and taking charge of their own economic future on your construction site.

Sustainability involves more than just materials, it involves people. Our approach bridges the gender gap in the construction industry by turning the site into a classroom. We work with local women, teaching them everything from rammed earth wall construction to lime plastering and bamboo roofing. This is not just about giving work, it is about transferring technical expertise that stays in the community long after our project is finished.

'Pengalaala mudiyaadhadhu edhuvum illai' (There is nothing women can't do) is not just a motto for us. It is what we see every day when our team executes complex structural work like earthbag domes or precise gabion walls. By choosing us, you are not just building a home, you are participating in an initiative that addresses the 30-40 percent wage gap women typically face in this sector. Whether it is at our Cheerville project or an installation at the India Art, Architecture and Design Biennale, we prove that inclusive teams deliver superior craftsmanship.

We are Rosie and Sridevi, the founders of Masons Ink. We believe a construction site should be a space for building lives as well as houses, which is why we have built our studio around an all-women team of masons and architects.
