Our Methodology
We start with the basics of hand placement and the fundamental syllables—dha, dhin, na, and tin. Once the foundation is firm, we transition into the structured compositions of the Delhi, Punjab, and Lucknow gharanas. Our students work extensively on teentaal, progressing from simple rhythmic patterns to advanced kaida, rela, and tukra pieces. We emphasize vilambit ley (slow tempo) control as much as drut ley (fast tempo) virtuosity, as it is in the slow, meditative cycles that true technique is revealed.
The Role of Performance
Music lives on stage, not just in the classroom. We integrate regular baithaks and concerts into our training. This creates an environment where students aren't just practicing for themselves but preparing to accompany vocalists or perform solo.
